the high school regular season has ended, a few frog recruits have completed their high school careers, some have played their first play-off game, and a number will be playing their first round games very soon so no better time to do one last over view of the frogs recruits

if you have something to add or correct where i am wrong feel free, this site is far, far better we multiple posters contribute. will provide a bit of positional information and remember the date december 21st as that is early signing date

projected de's for 2023:
caleb fox (so.)
connor lingren (frosh)
michael ibukin-okeyode (frosh)
paul oyewale (frosh)

nose for 2023:
dam williams (frosh.)
tymon mitchell (so.)
doug blue-eli (so.)

d-line recruits:
avion carter - dl - amarillo tascosa - 6' 4" 260, 4-star and #48 recruit in texas - best first step of the frogs three defensive line recruits, he plays both on the edge and inside for tascosa. if you watch his tape last year he usually used his quickness for big plays, but you now are starting to see the mix of the burst and some strength. he is a 3-year starter for tascosa. they are 9-1 and play el paso ysleta in the first round.

2022 stats (9 games) 32 solos, 8 tfl's , 6 sacks
2021 stats (13 games) 55 solos, 15 tfl's, 8 sacks
2020 stats (10 games) 67 solos, 18 tfl's, 10 sacks

zachary chapman - dl - ft bend marshall - 6' 5" 250, 3-star - physical at the point of attack and plays inside a great deal for what is consistently one of the best 5a defenses in the houston area. he does show some burst and while he doesn't look as smooth as carter he does show a good closing burst. 2-sport who also does weights in track, chapman is a 3-year starter for the buffs. marshall is 10-1 after beating huntsville 56-0 in the first round.

2022 stats (11 games) 31 solos, 14.5 tfl's, 5.5 sacks
2021 stats (3 games) 7 solos
2020 stats (13 games) 11 soles, 3.5 tfl's 3.5 sacks

keviyan huddleston - dl - tyler chapel hill - 6' 4" 240, 3-star and #72 ranked recruit in texas. when i watch huddleston's film he reminds me of mike nichols. keviyan plays both ways for the bulldogs and is a damn good high school tackle, but he looks a bit skinny similar to the way nichols did a couple of years ago. one thing to remember is that huddleston goes straight from football to the basketball court when he has played for 2 years for the bull dogs and then to track with discuss. you can see the crossover in sports in his footwork and balance, but that also means he has never really gone hard in an extended off-season when he gets with coach kaz. keviyan looks similar to zachary in being physical at the point of attack and has some burst the bulldogs are 9-2 after beating livingstone in the first round.

2022 stats (11 games) 15 solos, 1 tfl, 1 ff
2021 stats (15 games) 26 solos, 5 tfl's, 5 sacks, 3 ff

two names to remember for 2025 and chapel hill football ricky stennet who is a sophomore running back (5'11' 185) who has gone over 1,500 yards this year and sophomore quarterback demetrius brisbon jr (6'1" 175) who has just under 2,400 total yards and 25 td's

linebackers for 2023:
marcel brooks (sr.)
jamoi hodges (jr.)
johnny hodges (jr.)
thomas armstrong (jr.)
zach marceselli (jr)
shadrach banks (so.)
landyn watson (rs-fr.)
terrence cooks (rs-fr)

lb recruits:
jonathan bax - edge - new orleans edna karr - 6' 2" 230 , 3-star and #39 recruit in louisiana. bax might be the frogs most important defensive recruit as he looks to have all the skills to play the edge in their defense. he is a terror playing for one of new orleans' power program in edna karr. he is a mix a quickness, strength, brains, and natural instincts and has shown the ability to play down in a stance or upright. he is a 2-sport athlete and plays basketball as well for karr. stats are tough to come by but two things stuck out were a 3.88 gpa and 6 sacks in one half a game this year. if you read the edna karr game reports you continually come across mentions of a tfl, sack, or forced mistake by bax.

the cougars are 9-1 for the year and are expected to repeat last year's performance of making the state semi-finals

kylan salter - lb - cedar hill - 6' 1" 210, 3-star, kylan is an athletic linebacker who played both outside and in for cedar hill. he is a 2-sport athlete who also ran on cedar hill's 4x200 and 4x400 relays he missed his senior season after tearing his acl in the spring and is set to graduate in december and enroll at tcu in january

2021 stats (13 games) 115 tackles, 16 tfl's, and 4 ff

projected safeties 2023:
mark perry (jr.)
arbaham camara (jr)
deshaun mccuin (jr)
namdi obiazor (jr)
bud clark (so.)
d'arco perkins-mcallister (so.)
chase biddle (fr.)

safety recruits:
warren roberson - safety - red oak 6' 180, 4-star and #40 rated recruit in texas. warren is a compactly built explosive athlete who has played both ways for red oak as well as return kicks. he is a 2-sport athlete who also runs sprints. he has great quickness and plays physical for his size.
red oak is 8-2 and plays denton ryan in the first round.

2022 stats (10 games) 10 catches 288 yards 5 td's, 228 return yards, 30 solos, 2 tfl's, 2 int's, 12 pd's
2021 stats (10 games) 41 catches 688 yards, 6 td's, 234 return years, 8 solos, 4 int, 6 pd's

javeon wilcox - safety - lake belton, 6'2" 185, 3-star and #78 rated recruit in texas. javeon is a 2-year multi-sport starter for a brand new school and watching his film you can see the crossover. he is their basketball teams leading rebounder and shot blocker at 6 '2" and does sprints and jumps in track. he is long, good instincts, and seeks out contact. lake belton (8-2) play burleson centenniel in the first round.

2022 stats (10 games) 11 catches 276 yards 6 td's 75 tackles, 2 tfl's, 3 int's, 2 pd's, and 1 ff
2021 stats (9 games) 7 catches, 162 yards, 2 td's, 43 tackles, 1 tfl

jordan lester, safety - mesquite horn, 6' 2" 181, 3-star, is a multi-year 2-sport starter for horn and reminds me a bit of chris hackett, jordan looks skinny and very young in the face, he doesn't seem to make the explosive plays of roberson and wilcox, but then you start to notice he makes play in some for horn. they face wylie in the first round of the play offs.

2022 stats (10 games) 42 solos, 3 tfl's 3 int's, 7 pd's
2021 stats (10 games) 40 solos, 3 tfl's, 2 int's , 6 pd's
2020 stats ( 10 games) 34 solos, t fll

corners for 2023:
josh newton (jr.)
ishmael burdine (jr.)
kee'yon stewart (j.r)
keontae jenkins (jr.)
marvin covington (rs-fr.)
kyron chamber (fr.)
ronald lewis (fr.)

corner recruits:
vernon glover, jr. - cornerback -dickinson, 5' 11" 170 3 -star, vernon had a big year as a junior when he was regarded as one of the top corners in the houston area, but he has been a bit quiet this year. don't know if teams are going away from him, but he has a rep of being physical with good coverage skill . stats aren't really available for dickinson defensive players the gators play pearland in the first round.

oline recruits:
benjamin whitfiled, offensive line, duncanville, 6' 5" 282, 3-star, whitfield has played a lot of footbal for one of the very best programs in the state starting at tackle for the panthers, he is raw, but long, athlete, and very lean. he is the one recruit who at this time projects to potentially be a left tackle, the panthers play bryan in the 1st round.

cooper powers, offensive line, concord, ca de la salle, 6' 5" 280, 3-star recruit and california top 100 rated recruit, cooper is a 2-way, multi-year star for one of the great programs in northern california. an honor roll student who is a very physical run blocker who also starts at defensive tackle so he isn't shy in interior line play. very agile and moves well for his size, he plays for de la salle's rugby team. there is some thought he projects to the center position
narado stoker jr., offensive line, dallas south oak cliff, 6' 5" 310, 3-star recruit, stoker is a big, raw athlete with potential that reminds me of aviante' collins when i saw him at ft bend willowridge. stoker looks more like a right tackle than a left, but he can move and is physical

brione ramsey-brooks, offensive line, dallas south oak cliff, 6'4" 380ish - he has a great deal of work if he wants to play college football level and he does have some tools if he can get the weight down and the conditioning up. he better get ready for kaz.

cordale russell, wide receiver, north mesquite, 6' 3" 200, 4-star recruit and rated #37 in the state of texas, cordale is a multi-year 3 sport athlete who is nick named "baby to" for his physical style of play and explosiveness at receiver. he shows great bursts running with the ball and you can see the basketball background as he goes up after the ball

2022 stats (10 games) 48 catches for 1,059 yards and 11 td's plus 4.5 sacks when he was asked to play defense
2021 stats (10 games) 21 catches for 317 yards and 4 td's
2020 stats (10 games) 34 catches for 569 yards and 6 td's

plus this basketball clip

so why show the basketball clip? because if he really is 6' 2-3" that is some explosion off the floor and the last time i saw a tcu wide receiver recruit explode off the baseline for a dunk like that he ended up wearing #1 and has been play his arse of this year. russell has the same upside potential

rb's for 2023:
corey wren (jr.)
emani bailey (so.)
trent battle (so.)

rb recruit:
cameron cook, running back, round rock stony point, 5' 10" 180, 4-star recruit and #59 in texas. cook is a very versatile back who has over 4,300 career total yards in 23 games played. he has great quickness, agility, change of direction, catches the ball well, and is dangerous in the return game. he isn't going to be a big back as he matures, but his versatility makes him a very dangerous weapon in this offense. he has played multiple sports in high school including baseball and as a junior he jumped almost 22' 6" feet and the district meet which was his second meet in high school.

2022 stats (10 games played) 170 carries for 1,589 yards and 20 tds, 8 catches for 141 yards and another 2 td's
2021 stats (7 games played) 87 carries for 695 yards and 7 td's, 10 catches for 153 yards and 2 more td's
2020 stats (6 games played) 89 carries for 615 yards and 4 td's, 14 catches for 156 yards and 1 td

athlete recruits - the frogs do have two players committed who project to either side of the ball. both have produced big numbers on offense, but have shown flashes on the defensive side of the ball

rohan fluellen - athlete - gilmer - 6' 170, 3-star recruit, rohan is a multi year starter for one of the long time power programs in east texas. while his numbers might not show it this year, he has been incredibly productive for gilmer and has caught a number of football on both sides of the line of scrimmage. he projects to either a slot receiver or possible cornerback.

2022 stats (9 games) 30 catches for 433 yards and 4 td's, 16 solo's and 2 int's
2021 stats ( 16 games) 88 catches for 1,420 yards and 20 td's, 16 solo's and 8 int's
2020 stats (14 games) 66 catches for 963 yards and 7 td's, 23 solos and 7 int's

gilmer is 9-0 and is facing rusk (6-4) in their opening round of the play offs

max carroll - athlete - briarcrest christian, memphis, tn.- 6' 3" 205 - 3 -star recruit - max is a multi-year starting 2 sport athlete who projects to either a flex/ tight end or safety/ linebacker. he runs well, you can see the basketball back ground in how he goes after the ball up in the air, and you can see he has the frame to get bigger once he gets will a serious s&c program and not going from football right to the basketball court

2022 stats (11 games) 47 catches for 621 yards and 13 td's, 28 solos and 3 int's
2021 stats (10 games) 37 catches for 525 yards and 8 td's, 23 solos and 2 int's
2020 stats (9 games) 23 catches for 493 yards and 9 td's

you can start to see the staff putting their fingerprints on this roster and it will be very interesting to watch some of the younger players develop under kaz and his staff

Does anyone know how many recruits were at the Texas Game? I heard it was a ton of talent, but I haven’t heard any names or positions. They all had to be on Texas sidelines, however some are interested in TCU.

From UTx fan that follows their recruiting, Arch Manning and a bunch of other multi-star prospects were invited to the TCU @ Texas game.

thanks for the list hoosier

while i would love to read that jeremy is putting out crystal balls for tcu on behalf of hill and toviano the two big names to me literally and figuratively are cojoe and deal.

especially with how that game played out in the second half with tcu's offensive line physically taking over the game and the great job the frogs' defensive front did in slowing robinson

Such a shame they had to be witness to such pain…

Much appreciated for this info. Does TCU have a shot with any of these recruits?

they supposedly have a good shot with deal and there have been rumblings about cojoe

both those guys would help fortify the frogs line and i think they saw good evidence of working with kaz, ricker, and macfarland can yield the same if not better results as working with the texas staff

I am not seeing Miller's name on the running back list. It looks to be a deep running back draft class.

don't expect him to be around next year and most of the draft class projections didn't even include him, but the nfl scouts know about him
I know its a long shot, but like every other Frog fan I would love to see him and Max back next season. Also, I am curious who is going to step into the play making receiver with all those guys leaving as well.

I love Max but I think we'll be ok at QB next year. Maybe very ok.

I think CM is tailor-made for this offense if he can figure out how to stay healthy. And then there is Jackson.

really see no reason for max to stay and i would suspect miller is gone after the big year.

the clock on running backs is very, very short in the nfl and he has shown this year he can be guy to carry the load over a season without taking a beating over his career

frogs have a number of guys to try to fill in for taye and derius with a few guys on campus and a couple more on the way

quentin is tougher to replace because his skillset is a bit unique, remember quincy brown was getting some positive run early on before suffering the severe ankle injury, cordale is a very high ceiling guy, and don't rule out a transfer

Right now I think it's between Savion, Q Brown, or Hudson for that #1 WR spot next year although I'm not ruling out anyone.
