Was I supposed to type something here?

Should shock absolutely nobody. I’d like to say we’ll miss him but…….

Disappointing, and foolish. With a new staff, and the complete re-evaluations that will take place, he would likely have been the focus of the offense. Transferring to, say, Auburn (or anywhere else) would put him behind three (or more) other guys the coaches there are familiar with, or some incoming 5* kid those same coaches recruited and favor. And he is transferring with a lingering injury that might never heal, so he has another little weight in the negative balance pan against him.

One would think he will get surgery if it has not gotten better soon.

That's a great take, for a couple years ago. Now, the things you listed are only a small part of the decision for kids like Zach. This is about exposure and money. Zach is a five-star talent, if he is healthy and plays a decent amount next year, then he will get drafted. He is looking for a program that will shore up his NFL credentials while also paying him the most amount of money this year. Welcome to the business of college football free agency.
