YouTube TV vs Disney/ESPN

Not sure how many are aware but YouTube tv is in a dispute with Disney over network issues. Point is, espn and all Disney networks may be yanked at midnight tonight (Oct. 30) if an agreement isn’t reached. Univision has already been yanked in a similar dispute.

This means abc, every espn network, and the FX channels. But more importantly goodbye college football on these channels if you have YouTube tv.

Make sure you have your apps up to date and know how to use in case you have to stream any games on any of abc and the espn networks.

You should be able to watch any game through the Disney/ESPN app. The only problem would be whether espn chooses to black out the games that would be normally broadcast on their regular stations

I’m hoping so. I’ve had issues with my espn app allowing me to do so as of late.

I suspect they will black it out if you are trying to view that channel as part of your tv subscription and not as part of the espn+. for a while I had both directv and youtubetv accounts and when DTV and Disney got into one of these disputes and directv kicked espn off their lineup, I lost channels in my espn+ app. So I had to switch the provider info from DTV to YTV to get the stream to work.

ive got YTV and didn’t realize they were currently fighting w the mouse ears.

Hi,

In order to deliver a wide variety of sports, news, and entertainment programming on YouTube TV, we enter into agreements with network partners. Each time we renew our contracts with these partners, we advocate for fair pricing and greater flexibility to offer our subscribers the best possible live TV experience. Our current agreement with Disney has approached its renewal date, and we will not agree to terms that disadvantage our members while benefiting Disney’s own live TV products. Despite our best efforts, we have not been able to reach a fair deal, and starting today, October 30, 2025, Disney programming will not be available on YouTube TV. This means you will no longer be able to watch channels like ABC and ESPN or access recordings from these networks in your Library.

We know how disruptive it is to lose channels you enjoy, which is why it’s our goal to bring Disney content back to YouTube TV. We’re committed to continuing to work with Disney to reach an agreement, but if their content is unavailable for an extended period of time, we’ll offer our subscribers a $20 credit.

YouTube TV just can't get along with anyone can they. Back in August they had a dispute with Fox and now the mouse.
Seriously. I’m sure Disney are grade A a-holes to deal with but the fact that YouTube has gone through this with FOX, Paramount, Univision, and now Disney?!….it is like a Taylor swift album….there is only one constant here and its not the other guy Taylor/Youtube, it’s you.

In even more ridiculous bs about this, I logged into my espn app to ensure everything was correct, and I can’t even watch a replay of UTSA/Tulane because they now want me to pay $30 a month for some bs called ESPN Unlimited. Keep in mind I already own the Disney+/Hulu/Espn bundle bs!

The greed of these scheissing companies is insatiable!

It looks as if you will only be able to use the app to watch games that air on whatever the SCHEISS espn3 is/was. If it’s not on ESPN3, it looks like they will try to force you to pay $30 extra per month. So, looks like I’ll be without any cfb on any Disney channel for quite a while.

What a scheissing scheissy piece of scheissy company action by both scheissing scheissy companies. Scheiss-ass scheissing greed by corporations is ruining the world.

Not just corporations.

If you need a pick me up you can click over to Muck's article about how the Brockermeyers (and Damonic) kept coming back to TCU for more money.

I'm a massive fan of CFB who has traveled to various stadiums and has season tickets in my local market, but the new world has me looking at this and saying, OK fine I just won't watch any games this weekend (besides the one I'm going to).
