I can see why you say that.....if so, they tried really hard yesterday to be obvious. The missed field goal called no good with a 10pt lead isn't about money, it's just plain dreadful.

After re-watching the game, I would say you are correct, however we also got lucky with some non-calls. I was frustrated yesterday, but now I am ok with what transpired.
If we were in the same position as OU (BCS game on the line), I'm sure we would have received some calls that benefited us.

Wouldnt be the first time that we would have been a part of this then. Im sure along the way to our Fiesta and Rose seasons, our competitors were saying similar things. Also think back to Boise at Boise, nothing to crazy there except for a handful of missed personal fos and a phantom pass interference call on our DB. Part of the process i guess.

If we wanted to win the game, we should've made more plays than the other team, but we didn't. Boyce should've caught that ball at the end. Foltz should've not gotten beat forcing him to hold on the what-would've-been tying run by Boykin. Several other drops by receivers should've been caught. Oberkrom should've split the uprights with his kick to take the refs decision out of the equation.
If we would've done EVERYTHING possible to win the game, then by all means, berate the refs and cry foul play and this that and the other.
But we didn't. We made more mistakes than the other guys. We didn't get as many stops as we needed. We didn't play a mistake-free game, so complaining about the refs jobbing us is just a bunch of [Rod Gilmore]ing that reeks of Aggy or BayLOL attitude. Be better than that, please.

I don't think it's a conspiracy but I think officials are human beings who are influenced, even if they don't realize it. If you watch someone like Paul Rhoads carrying on as he does and see the calls start going his way, you'll understand what I mean. He's a master at it. Bob Stoops has complained about officiating and he's very powerful. You can't convince me that doesn't result in close calls going his way. It's just human nature.

Yes sir. I expected to offense to suffer a little, as did everyone. But I mean when you have a redshirt freshman starting in place of one of the most efficient QBs in the country, combined with a rookie play caller as OC, struggles are going to happen. Here's to hoping that all resolves itself before LSU next year.

You'd have to wear a tin foil hat to believe that $13 million vs. $0 doesn't influence someone to pressure referees to err on the side of $13 million.
I know that I make decisions at work that favor my company to make extra money.

With this criteria in place, I suppose conversation about officiating is officially banned in your world. It might serve as a good reminder that the LHCGP himself declares often and loudly that games outcomes are usually determined with four or five key plays. So even he doesn't believe that one must play "mistake free" for 60 minutes to win. And, if even a few of those four or five key plays are officiated poorly or inconsistently, then there is ample room to wonder...and I would contend: to discuss. Personally, I don't think that the officiating "cost" us the game. I do, however, believe that we would have had to do more than OU to win it...and wasn't this expected? Call it unfortunate. Call it an imaginary construct of purple blinders. Call it a conspiracy. Call it insufficient resiliency to overcome. Call it "moneyball". Call it karma for lack of offensive execution. Call it "paying our dues". Whatever...but to think or suggest that people shouldn't comment is naive.

I've hated b & m'ing about officiating my whole life. The refs are a part of the game, and sometimes, they are a part of the game that you need to overcome at times. So, no, I don't really have any patience for complaining about officiating. The only situation I can remember from this year that fans had a legitimate claim to be pissed at officials was the Seattle/Green Bay game, and that was mainly due to refs having absolutely no idea what they were doing and being way in over their heads, not purposely jobbing a team.
