If ever there were a year TCU needs to finish in the Top 10, this is it, especially if the leftover 8 are still in purgatory. Wouldn't hurt if Rattler's ankles/knees get rattled, or he just has a sophomore jinx.. Sorry to be a bad sport, but football's always been and keenly this year remains a zero sum game- it's us against all others- if another program in your conference is improving, it's not good for you, assuming you want to be at the top. If we get into playoff discussions, it could help in expansion talk and same with any other leftover teams, though I don't see that happening this year.

Frogs need an Alamo Bowl and a NY6 Bowl over the next 2 years ... as much as ever needed before ... just like the Rose Bowl win did for us... getting us 2 P5 offers a year later.

If UT is any kind of example, winning isn’t the all powerful element when schools are being considered for a spot at the adult table.

This is true, it's not the only thing that matters. Having said that, UT has a better conference record since 2012 than all but the Oklahoma schools, so if winning were all that mattered, they'd still be pretty high up there in the pecking order.

As 2014 showed us, when it comes to TCU, winning isn’t enough.
