Would field turf help recruiting?

I was talking to an admin from Trinity HS this past weekend and we discussed Gaius and recruiting in general.

He had a pretty good point that if we were to have field turf instead of grass and we were to host high school games this would allow the local kids to see up close the stadium and our great facilities.

He mentioned the Soutlake v Trinity playoff game that was played at Birdville stadium. He said if TCU would have allowed them to play at the stadium both schools would have jumped all over it.

Are we missing out by not using one of our biggest recruiting tools by keeping the grass field?

I don't think the playing surface matters since most HS have to play on both anyway.

I do wonder why TCU doesn't (and hasn't) hosted more HS playoff games and other HS focused events. If we're going to allow the Armed Forces Bowl, I don't see how the HS games would be harmful.

This would only work for kids who haven't had a chance to see the facilities on their own. Gaius was on campus multiple times, so I don't see how a turf field could have helped in recruiting him.

Gaius' reason for going to Utah was undoubtedly because he

was a Mormon and two of his high school teammates were in

the same Ute recruiting class.

Check out the Field Turf at Trinity HS. Reminds me of the indoor/outdoor carpet on Granpa's back porch. And don't get me started on why any "admin" at Trinity HS would ever have a valid opinion on the management of athletic facilities. Pisses me off just thinking about it.

Ok, evidently yall didnt get my point. So let me explain.

I am not trying to say recruits are making a decsion on going to TCU based on the playing surface. So I wasnt saying Gaius made his decision based on this.

My point was since we do not host HS games because we have grass are we possibly missing out on recruits?

The Trinity admin said that TCU does not want HS games because it will tear up the field. Surely there are kids that we were interested in that didnt come on a visit. These are the recruits I am referring to.

So if we had field turf and did host HS games then we could POSSIBLY get looks from recruits that might not have had a strong interest in TCU.

Couldn't hurt. I don't think it would make or break anyones decision, but it would be a positive thing. It should be done.

I remember at the first reseating meeting for the new Amon Carter, CDC mentioned that the new stadium would have two visitors locker rooms with the hope of hosting some high school games.
There have been a few playoff games at ACS in the past few years but not as many as most of us would like.
