Will Josh stay or take the $ this time around?

Hoover redshirted his first year and next season is year #5 so his senior classmates will be gone. I guess he too will have graduated, but I don’t know. But yes, like Duggan and Dalton I expect his play next year will be more elevated and hopefully it is as a Frog.
Sure wish either one could spend all Spring/Summer with him—might work wonders on deciding check downs, running gaps, learning when to throw away, ball security, everything.

It may cost about $25 million to keep Hoover. Not to pay him, but to buy a dominant offensive line to convince him the road to the NFL runs through Funky Town. Maybe Lane Kiffin comes calling his name

He cant run. Thats the entire problem in this offfense. Not sure how they can fix that.

Dudes legitimately our best passer ever.

Folks forget how good Dalton was on those interior QB zone reads. He was a first down rushing machine, if not the homerun threat Boykin and Duggan were.

Was I supposed to type something here?

Much of what made Jeff Ballard a successful QB was his ability to judge when the defense was giving him space to run, and taking 5-15 yards.

He's not sturdy or tough enough to be a consistent running threat in the base offense. What he can do is recognize when there is wide open field in front of him and take the easy 7-10 yards when it's there. And maybe 1-2 plays a game when you know the defense is overplaying.

To be clear I wasn't calling for Hoover to be benched or for Schobel to pass Seals on the depth chart. Just wishful thinking, like it would be nice to have a game out of reach in the 4th quarter and let him get some snaps running option plays in trash time.
Seals is gone, I think. Shame on this staff to not give Schobel at least 3-4 series in last 4 games.
