Why was Section 120 & 121 empty?

Until late 2nd quarter when leakers, lurkers and I assume GA & SRO started (finally) filtering in.

I've wondered that since the first game of the season. These two sections are always empty when the game starts....can't figure out why. Then they start filing up during quarters 1 and 2. Explanation?

Yeah, it was disappointing to see the student section with so many empty seats. They slowly filled in some from SRO people seeing that they could have a seat after it stayed empty for most of the first quarter, and never did fill up entirely.

You would think that Oklahoma would peak their interest, but if I remember when I was a student, getting to a game the morning after a Friday night by 11am would not be the best time to get maximum student attendance. I don't like 11am games, but I show up early anyways, because I am a die hard. But there are lots of people who sell thier tickets to the opposing fans for a few extra bucks, so the students are not the only ones to let the school down. And it is not just the club people who sell their lower bowl +6 tickets. The stadium has been littered with opposing fans in all sections. Apparently the Big 12 helped attendance somewhat, but it seems that once it was obvious that we would not contend for the conference title, lots of fans have sold their tickets, Hopefully that will improve in the near future.

I think you are referring to section 121 and 122 on the east side?

My understanding is the whole lower section on the east side is reserved for students but within the section it is general admission. So naturally the students will fill from the center on out. The northeast sections do not fill until there are enough students there to fill the whole section. Students are not going to spread out to the corners when they can pack in toward the middle.

I think you are referring to section 121 and 122 on the east side?

I'm willing to bet that the students packing together like sardines contributes to the peripheries looking a little bare. If they sat according to how the seats are designated, I bet this wouldn't be much of an issue.
