Why Denzel might be an All-American.

I had the privilege to get to know Denzel a bit here in Gainesville.

I say a bit in the literal sense. We played some basketball together. I talked to him at the gas station shortly and congratulated him on playoffs. And I saw him at another gas station. I told you-just a bit.

Here's the thing though.

I like Denzel. He's not a 3-star recruit right now or considered as such. But I believe he can be a great player in time and at TCU. He's affable, polite and humble (when we're not on the basketball court...). When no one's around and you just talk to him.

He's a Gary Patterson type guy. Very athletic. I was trying to find some track information online and didn't manage much. I'd have to find it in the papers. Versatile-he does basketball and track and field. I was thinking he can long jump around 22 ft or more and run an 11 or sub-11 100 meters. that was last year. Good size and strength for safety or LB or WR.

People that aren't as respected and rated as highly as others sometimes turn out to be real gems. Maybe even All-Americans in college.

I can list other reasons why, but I'm sure you can decide for yourselves.

#1 I think-it's hard to predict the future or else everyone would rule Vegas. Doesn't happen people. Unless you'r a mafia boss.

#2. there are anomalies or exceptions to the rule. Yes, Alabama recruits a lot of F#%^#*(%&#( talent. So what. they don't win all the time. Do they.

#3. teams like BSU, TCU and BYU have bucked the rule. Unless you want to argue with me over this.

I'm just glad guys like Flacco and Kaepernick have shown us the way.

Go Delaware and go Nevada. All CF powerhouses to be sure.

Thanks for the complement. I see a bit of Tejay Johnson in his defensive highlights. At 6'2 200 pounds after a red shirt year - add twenty pounds of muscle and he may move up to linebacker. Obviously the coaches have stopped distinguishing between Safety and Linebacker in recruiting - Johnson, Douglas, Shaw, Baltimore, Whitmill... all safety size with the potential to grow into LBs.
