utah

I disagree. Boise certainly brings more to bowl games. Utah had a small crowd at ACS for one of the biggest games in MWC history last year.

They're about the same size school if I remember correctly... just a little over 20,000 for each of them I believe.

Utah is the bigger state, but they have to split their fans with big brother, BYU. I think Boise pretty much carries the entire state of Idaho. I know University of Idaho is there, but I'm not sure how many fans they actually have.

I would also guess Boise has more random t-shirt fans around the country who just kind of picked them as their team because they're unique and represent the little guy.

All that being said, I'll probably still take Utah.

Hard to say. Utah's local market is larger. Boise's stadium is smaller but they almost always sell it out. I do think Boise has more of a national buzz than Utah, which is important.

Last year, Boise was usually just short of selling out their 32,000 seat stadium. UU usually sells out their 40,000 seater. For what that's worth.

It will be interesting to see if BSU ticket demand and attendance picks up when they start playing a MWC schedule.

Boise played in the most famous BCS game, the last minute miracle game against OU.

Boise, in a list provided by ESPN, and I think it was for the last 5 or maybe 10 years, is the winning'est team in the country.

So, Boise wins that contest. Utah had the big BCS win over Alabama and have played stiffer competition conference wise. Still, Boise is the bigger name nationally.

Didn't Utah have trouble selling all of their tickets to the Sugar Bowl? The Fiesta Bowl absolutely loves Boise. We may be net winners in this deal.

I think you are thinking about Hawaii, not selling its tickets.
