white Christmas in the land of TCU

Congrats to all FW Frogs! I hope you enjoy your White Christmas.

It conjures up memories of a rare "Snow Day" in the early '60s, when FWISD suspended classes.

We had about six boys in our Wedgwood neighborhood gang, but only one sled between us.

My driveway had the greatest incline, and our street (Wooten Dr.) was a long, slow decline to Trail Lake.

We'd launch from my steep driveway, make a sharp turn into the street, and slide all the way to the bottom of the hill.

Then, we'd have to walk - sled in hand - all the way back up the hill, so the next guy could have a turn.

What a great day!

Go Frogs!

Reminded of snow we had in March years back. We didn't have sleds so we went to the cafeteria and borrowed food trays and off to Worth Hills many of us went. The rump wanted to go one way and the feet another way. Believe that was 63' or 4.

It's just windy as all hell here in Houston, front's blowing in now. Heading to south Texas right now for what I hope turns out to be the rut. High of 75 today, low of 31 tonight, deer should be moving in the morning.

Merry Christmas!!!

Took this one a few hours ago. By now, everything has been blanketed white. But this is when the flakes were really dropping.

Merry Christmas and Go Frogs!!

Not the case at all. The roads are getting bad. I've seen numerous wrecks tonight. The forecast was for a dusting and most areas received between 1 and 4 inches.

I've been out there. The roads are fine - nothing a little common sense wont cure. That 1 to 4 inches on the grass means nothing on the roads. As i said the bridges will be an issue because those will freeze but the surface streets wont. Those wrecks happen everywhere there's a 1st weather event and its due to people not paying attention to what they are doing not because the conditions dictate it. Its an old story.
