I think that is only BCS bowls...the others are upon selection and acceptance.

Many of the other bowls are dependent on what happens with the BCS...particularly the Big 12 bowls.

This. I remember that we knew a few hours before the BCS selection show that we didn't make it and Michigan did. I was pretty disappointed.

Not this. If the Big 12 bowls start announcing their matchups, that will ruin the one suspenseful factor of the show - is OU in? ESPN will not allow that moment to be ruined.
But I've been wrong before.

Last year it eventually got leaked, or learned, or whatever you want to call it that we didn't crack the BCS and got a Poinsettia Bowl bid a few hours before it was announced on TV.
Pretty much everything that was being reported here or on big sports sites or whatever before it being on TV was pretty spot on.
