I hope they end up with about #20 on their list. Somebody they have to introduce in order to know why you've even heard of him. It will be enjoyable listening to them explain how "this was their guy right from the start" even though they publicly courted every winning coach in the country.

I swear Arkansas has raised the general pay level of college coaches over the past 10 years with their madness.

Kinda feel that's the reason Briles will end up at Arky. They are not going to get anywhere near their top choice/s and will cave to the intrigue of that offense and the Texas recruiting. Hell, who knows, maybe Briles is married to baylor now, just does not seem like that kind of guy to me.

Nah, I see a current SEC position coach, who was at one time a failed SEC coordinator, getting his first head coaching gig...or Coach Fran...either of which will be enjoyable to listen to their fans justify and seem excited about in a couple weeks.

Would agree with the logic especially since they want an offense like Patrino had. Pretty funny how many of the hog fans still look at Petrino as a savior. Says a lot.

Baylor has quite the conundrum. I can't see them bumping Briles to 4MM from 2MM for a 7-5 season. Maybe 2.5MM max. I also cantt see him not being interested in making a heck of a lot more at Arky and getting away from the round robin. If he stays at Baylor he must really love it.

My Arkansas buddy texted earlier "we're gonna get every damn coach in D1 a pay raise before finally rehiring Houston "blanking" Dale Nutt." Fans are panicked to say the least.

1) You don't know who will say yes or no until you ask. I doubt Gundy is seriously considering that job but if he says yes, then wow, that was unexpected; and
2) Whatever people outside the program think about the quality of the job, the AD cannot introduce Sonny Dykes or the like to that fan base and keep his job unless he is able to say that people higher up the list were offerred the job and said no.

Tried to find one of their boards that I was reading a couple days ago, and it seems to be requiring a log in. Not sure if it is technical issues, just the wrong site, or something else.
I did read on some boards that a couple posters were trying to rationalize things by saying they have had their man, but the AD only wanted to help Miles get a pay raise so they offered him publicly.
In any case, it is fun reading about their coaching search.

I think he was at 2.25 before he got bumped after the 2011 year. Rumor is he's already over 3mm. I really doubt he bolts. If he leaves it won't be because of money.
