What's your thoughts on TCU's new transfer qb

Jaden Craig has his sight set on the NFL and wants a season of seasoning in FBS and is expecting to be QB #1 for the Frogs. His Frog year begins now. If he doesn’t start over Schobel, things have gone awry. I hope the Frogs have an offensive line that does not cause him to regret his decision.

Was I supposed to type something here?
Fairly long article about him in the Harvard Crimson. He did graduate last month with a degree in Economics
Jayden Craig
So, based on current Harvard educational prerogatives, he can quote Das Kapital from memory...

Perhaps the solons at the TCU Bidness School can exorcise those demons from him while he gets his free MBA!

Edit: I am reminded of the ex-Aggie QB who showed up to challenge Boykin in 2014(?). Good kid, good back-up, very smart.

The Ol' Miss QB did not have an issue making the leap from DII to SEC competition. I do not think it will a problem for him.
I think I'd feel better about a QB trying to make that jump than just about any other position on the field, just because the position is about brains as much as it is physical ability, as long as you have the basic physical traits.

From the reports he has all the tools needed to make the jump. NFL scouts seem to like his decision making and ability to read a defense.

I prefer guys who have played multiple years with success at a lower level to guys who were 4/5* recruits but didn't see the field at Alabama/Georgia. This seems like a good pickup. An obviously better portal QB wouldn't be coming here.
I'm feel the same about coaches.

There is no substitute for college game experience. It’s amazing the differences between players with 25+ games under their belts versus those with a handful. There’s really no other sport where game experience is as meaningful.

I’m sure someone has studied this. It would be interesting to know the point where the light switch is flipped for most players. Is it 20 games? 25? 30?

I think GP understood this intuitively, if not quantitatively.

Just having a consistent offence that can get first downs and score enough will be much better for our defense so they get worn down. TCU is never going to have the same depth as the blue bloods so ball control and not turning the ball over is our only chance to make things somewhat equal.

From Mel Kiper website:

Which middle-round sleeper quarterback will excite scouts the most in the leadup to the draft?

i

Kiper: Jaden Craig, Harvard. He's my QB8 right now, and it'd be no surprise if he went in the third or fourth round. Craig has a live arm, a 6-foot-2, 215-pound frame and sound mechanics. I like how he buys time in the pocket with his movement traits and then delivers strikes into tight windows with terrific touch. He has thrown 25 touchdown passes to seven interceptions this season, and although he didn't have the best game against Villanova in the FCS playoffs, NFL teams are going to be interested.
