Those of you that have become Frog fans post 1998 may not be able to relate but for those of us that have been following the Frogs for much longer, you have to occasionally marvel at how far the TCU football program has come since those days. Tonight's win over UT is one of those occasions for me. I remember being a boy watching UT beat us by 68 points in the snow. Almost every year it was a massacre when we played the 'Horns, Aggie's, Razorback's, etc.. There were a couple of miracle upsets of the Hogs and a, hard to believe it really happened, win over the 'Horns in 1992 and that was about it. Those were miracles, and I remember as a boy wishing and hoping that TCU would one day be on the same level as those teams until I had kind of given up hope of that ever becoming a reality. Then GP took over and began building (with a whole lot of help) the type of program I had always wanted us to have. A program that is as good as any in the land. Never thought it would be a reality but programs like UT have nothing on us anymore.
Our kids went into Austin, a place we had never won at in my lifetime, expected to win and outclassed the supposed "premier" program in the state. It's no fluke, it's a reality and I couldn't be prouder to be a Horned Frog tonight. Thank you GP, coaching staff, players, admin, band and fans.
Now, time to go to bed and try to sleep off what I'm sure will be a helluva headache in the morning
