Week 14 games

Seriously, can you tell me where ,when the imbalanced ol is covered? I've watched most of 4 Vanderbilt games this year and 2 last year. The guys calling the game never get into the nitty on how it disadvantages the opposing team Vandy is playing. A simple elementary explanation of the trench power dynamics is a minimum request. If you accept 12 second quips that is fine. Why hasn't anybody else contacted me about this other than you?

I am not trying to be confrontational or caustic, simply trying to understand the imbalanced OL and the advantages/disadvantages.
Must’ve been in the games you didn’t watch as I distinctly remember them discussing this in more than one game of theirs.

Probably because they don’t care.

There was recently a Tech poster extolling the virtues of their developmental program, how it took players with promise and potential, and built them into stars. I don't believe he was entirely wrong in his assessments.

Then, there's TCU...
If TCU boosters step up and allow us to buy 7 of the top 85 transfer portal players this offseason (and 13 four-star transfers), I think you'd see quite a bit of development.

it wasn't just that they stepped up with money, its that the Tech staff didn't miss on any of them regarding their ability on a different schedule.
everybody talks about the money, which is real, but that staff deserves some credit. that firm they hired does too.
and at the end of the day, you gotta coach them. and Tech's staff did.
whether or not they can do it again is the question.

not saying that development does not matter. Places like Ohio St. UGA. Bama. They have actually trended down on how they are starting guys from the portal. (which was not that big to begin with).

Yeah, we need to start paying more portal guys, I think that's obvious. Tech signed 13 guys rated higher than Eric McAlister, think about that. Their entire defensive line.

It's amazing how development works when you have more talented, bigger, stronger, faster players.

EMc was sort of a late bloomer when you think about it. Again, the O Line has impaired his numbers this year. Easy to see why he is frustrated some times. But he also forces teams to move coverage, and that opens up others. A trait that NFL scouts love. But he also improved due to some good coaching while at TCU.

As to the tech poster's claim, those guys being developed by Tech ... I'd say it is a mix. They were already big time before they got to Lubbock, but a coach in Lubbock figured a way to make those guys gel and focus on the right things. Now, if one of those guys played a different position or even other side of the line, I'd say give that coach 100% credit for the development.
