Week 10 Games

I'd flip them...but not as egregious. ND is 8 spots higher than the team they lost to with an identical record. I guess losing to SMU hurts...
If you look at the outcomes of all the games, Notre Dame is probably about where they should be. They have won handily in all their other games. Granted, not against good teams but nobody else has beaten Arkansas by 40 points or NC State by 29.

We are behind SMU in the AP poll. I don’t really have a problem with it because it doesn’t really matter but I’m surprised there isn’t more complaining about that. Probably because half our fans seem to want us to lose.

My criticism of ND is that they are ranked because of their loses, not their wins. I know they are good, but did they earn their ranking? There are 20 power 4 teams with more wins and another 6 with identical records. At some point you have to win big games to be top 10. Their SOR is 15 and that feels about right. Also, their remaining SOS is 70, where most teams will play tougher schedules to finish the season, so their SOR should drop dramatically. I am cool with a #10 ranking right now if voters will drop them when other teams build better SORs. It will be interesting to see what say Louisville does in comparison. They have 4 very winnable games but say they lose on the road to SMU and finish with identical records as ND. They beat one of the teams that ND lost to on the road. Where would each be ranked to finish the season?

Also because sportswriters seem to be in love with and beholden to their “history” there. They’ve fallen out of love with Nebraska, wish they would do so with Notre Dame as well.

Considering they were in the title game last year, I would say some is warranted; however, every season is independent and at some point, voters need to reward actual wins and not well they played tough against A&M and they played tough against Miami on the road. And I'm not taking a win against a good USC away from them, but for every close loss against Miami there is a well your game control against (1-8) Boston College wasn't that impressive.

Notre Dame's fate is pretty much sealed. If they win out, they are going to be in and very likely host a 1st round game. If they lose another game, they are 100% out.

If BYU gets past Tech this weekend, we're going to get screwed by the officials when we play BYU. We know from the past that the Big 12 is going to look out for their cash cow. Anything close or questionable is going to be called in BYUs favor.

Tech wins Sadc [ Finebaum ]ay.
Yeah, Tech's DC figures out how to fluster and confuse a true freshman QB, something other teams BYU has faced this year have failed to do. Hopefully, this lays the foundation to how you mess up the true freshman Bachmeier. TTech winning would be best for the B12.
