We proved we belong

I don't think any reasonable person ever believed that TCU couldn't be a decent/competitive Big 12 team.

The question is, what would TCU's record have been in the MWC this year? My guess is one loss, potentially undefeated. And frog fans would have been flapping their jaws about how they deserved a BCS bid as much as any one loss team, middle of the pack B12 teams are not very impressive, blah blah blah. There's no question that's the way it would have gone down if TCU was still in the MWC.

That being said I think TCU exceeded expectations this year given all the players lost during the season and prior to the season, and will be a force next year if the OL improves and you have more consistency at QB.

With a team of freshmen, we have proven we can compete. I still am not sure we could have won the MWC with the myriad of problems we have had this year. We will never know.

We never have had a year quite like this one with offseason issues, grade problems and injuries. A lessor team and a lessor coach would have had a complete collapse after going through what we did this year. To turn in the kind of defensive performance that we did this year with only one senior on the team is nothing short of amazing. I can't wait for next year.

For the record those quotes are not mine, apparently the quote function truncates that asshat's name so that is says mine.

I call BS.

This statement is unworthy of a detailed response. It is thoroughly and completely a load of crap.

It's worth asking, if my post is so completely absurd: Name two teams TCU would have lost to in the MWC this year.

Very, very easy to imagine how TCU could have been a one loss team in the MWC this year.

And if you are going to rip me to shreds also realize I gave TCU a few compliments as well. Texas Christian will be a force to be reckoned with next year. I may even make the drive to Dallas to watch a few of their games.

Don't get lost and go to see SMU. Texas Christian is in Fort Worth.

(A) The make-up of the MWC THIS YEAR is nothing like it was when we played in the MWC.

(B) We always challenged ourselves with at least one (but more often two) tough OOC games. This year, we would have played OU OOC, but obviously had a change of plans.

So, saying that our team would have been a one loss team in the MWC THIS YEAR (thereby implying that our previous successes are merit-less) is deceitful and will always be met with hostility by TCU faithful.

The question isn't how we would do in THIS YEAR's MWC, the question you are trying to ask is how our team from THIS YEAR would have performed in the shoes of our teams from 2008-2010.

Note: in 2007, we went 7-5 in that MWC. When we had issues, we didn't win all our ball games. It's true today just as it was in the MWC for us.

[Craig James] footing around the question.

The point to my post, was we did not embarrass ourselves in any way. We hung with some of the best teams in the country. Even beat Texas in their house. This is an incredibly young team thats going to get better and I think we will be a force sooner rather than later.
