LAS VEGAS — Count TCU’s Sonny Dykes among the people who think it’ll be weird seeing Gary Patterson in Baylor attire this fall.

Baylor brought in Patterson in a consultant role over the offseason. Patterson served as head coach of the rival Frogs for 21 years before he and TCU severed ties eight games into the 2021 season.

Dykes followed Patterson as TCU head coach, and he agreed that it might take some getting used to seeing Patterson in the green and gold.

A pissed-off Gary scares me....He always found a way to dish out mean revenge against those who had beaten him...Texas, Tech, Utah, BYU, Northwestern....And for however much longer GP stays in the coaching game at Baylor, the 9-3 record against BU TCU holds in Big 12 competition will erode unless the Frogs can recruit AND KEEP Patterson-quality defenses....

Ok - so what does "talk about GP coaching today" mean? Like he referenced he has had discussions with GP about strategy, etc this year or he said GP was in the office today?

Maybe he signed up again but GP was sitting in the 19th hole of Colonial last Friday and someone asked him if he was having to drive to Waco a lot.

He said something close to I am not working with them anymore - I am not working anywhere right now and just enjoying the break...

Then he mentioned he would like to go to Africa but Kelsey just got back from her birthday trip - so he was going to have to wait
