Of course, hasn't everybody? Reminded me of a story I heard about Ray Guy. While in college, he played a game at AGCS. Fans midway up the old upper deck recall a punt he kicked that flew above their seat height.
Also, the old, old Oakland Raiders were my fave team for many years growing up. North Dallas Forty ain't got nothin' on those Raaaaaidahs.

A shame: On August 14, 2011, Guy filed for bankruptcy and was forced to put up his Super Bowl rings for auction. The auction of the rings brought in $96,216, slightly higher than the upper estimate of 90K.

i agree a shame
but IMO the best punter in NFL history is Sammy Baugh averaged over 51 yards per kick in 1940 and lead the league in kicking more years than any other kicker

You are right, the coffin corner punt was pretty much a thing of the past when Guy was booming.
In Sam's day, teams were still very field position conscious, and Baugh was an expert at kicking the ball out of bounds inside the 20. This usually resulted in several yards loss on those punts. Dutch Meyer had insisted on Sam using this tactic at TCU, but he could be a boomer like Guy when necessary.

Words mean things. The word 'pure' is there to accentuate that there are no punters-only in the HOF. It's not an argument, it's a fact.
