Vanderbilt's class ranked 19th by Rivals?

Yes, yes, we can't get too caught up in national rankings on football recruiting classes, championships aren't won in February, yada, yada.

But I do ask this question: How did Vanderbilt accomplish this? And I am not a member of Rivals. Where did they rank the frogs' class?

Just curious. Thanks

Because they are a member of the SEC, why else?

Well they have been members of the SEC for years and never had a class ranked this high.

Well the darling of ESPN and the rest of the sports media, the SEC, hasn't always been a farm club for the NFL either. Now a days it seems like there is nothing the SEC and its schools can do wrong.

For some reason when SEC players get in trouble, the ESPN's don't report on it. Or the academic institutions don't call press conferences to announce it. I hope it all catches up with them one day.

Oh and $$$$$ in the SEC.

Current recruits were in the 5th grade when a team outside the SEC won a national title. The SEC wasn't always this powerful and i'd imagine it won't always be either, but right now kids want to play in the SEC. So they have the SEC thing going for them as well as a very charismatic coach who can sell what he has to offer. It's also a really good school. As for Ole Miss....well...

ESPN is just pimping their biggest draw right now. When the power shifts to another conference, so will ESPN.
Until someone starts paying better than the SEC schools, they should be on top for awhile. (Heard the players ere talking union)

Also keep in mind that Rivals ranks on total points which is affected by number of signees, which for them was 26. A number of the schools behind them have a higher average stars ranking
