UT: Post TCU fallout...

Reactions vary wildly from surprise how TCU dominated the lines to UT would have blown out the frogs if....but here are some of the actual post game aftermaths:

Case McCoy named as starter because of Ash injury (Alex King-punter from Duke named backup if Ash can't go).

Nick Harvey from Lancaster commits to TAMU. 2014 DB was considered high on UT (side note: TCU needs to dominate recruiting out of Lancaster) and is one of the top 5 recruits in Texas for 2014.

Lots of injuries besides Ash: Demarco Cobb, Kennedy Estelle and Jeremy Hills out, Okafor & Goodwin possible.

And rumors were flying that Malcolm Brown unhappy and thinking of transferring. Mack Brown specifically makes a point that MB will get more carries this week (who runs that show???).

Anyway, think things are starting to boil in Austin and doubt Mackdaddy out any time soon but many think he may be losing his biggest advantage, recruiting, and that will not go over well cause UT fans love winning signing day almost more than winning the conference.

i heard some similar things this morning... they had a fight in the locker room after the game, mainly between under and upper classmen... can't believe Malcom Brown didn't even get a single DOWN into the game against the frogs...

they're on the brink of losing the team unity altogether (if it was there to begin with)

As recently as before the Turkey Day game, I would have given big odds that Mack would be back next year (but I don't gamble on college football), and better-than-even odds that Mack would be coaching for another 3 years whether he had a clunker this season or not.

Not so sure now. Certainly no inside information, but the sycophant part of the local press is suddenly snarly with Mack, and my friend that has friends that supposedly has inside sources ain't talking about the situation.

None of my 'Horn friends are looking forward to the K-State game, seeming to expect a real butt-kicking from a K-State team that has had 2 weeks to ponder the embarrassment of losing big to Baylor.

The locals won't be happy with any loss of course, but I think they will be relieved if the game is not a blowout. If it is a blowout, I think there is a real possibility that Mack, Harsin, and Diaz (of course) will be contemplating their respective navels on mountaintops somewhere, after the 'Horns' bowl game if not by Christmas. What happens to Major (Can Do No Wrong) Applewhite will be interesting.

Another of the possible fallouts is Jalen Overstreet. Not sure if he was specifically involved but lots of talk that he wants out.

A fight in the locker room can be a positive thing if a player or two needed a kick in the butt. However, a team divided, is not.

The person that needs to be receiving a beating is anybody involved in the recruitment and development of their QBs... Gilbert, McCoy, Ash, Overstreet, and possibly Brewer (haven't heard good things).

Their strength and conditioning coach is pretty lame also... UT looked far weaker than TCU on Thursday.

Haven't seen anything that says there was a "fight". All I've read is a freshman made a smart arse comment after Butterteeth finished his post game speech, and then a senior got in his face and the went toe-to-toe before an assistant broke it up. And then the rumor goes that Mack came back in and lost his cookies on everyone.

The fighting has been covered on multiple Texas boards, has been going on for awhile...

It is, essentially, young guys standing up and calling people out (on Thursday, it was a well known youngster calling out Mack and the Coordinators) and old guys telling them to shut up...

And ya, there will be an exodus... You can just feel it in Austin, every fan hates Mack and is tired of it, the team is fighting and yet has no fight on the field, commits or verbal's are taking new visits or moving on all together...

Pretty close to rock bottom, two more losses to end the year will seal it.

There has been fighting (not fists, yelling and chesting up and such) throughout the season since OU, and it definitely blew up on Thursday night...

When it comes to Mack Brown's exit from UT be careful what you wish for...

Go Frogs!
If you mean that we might lose Gary to UT, I am not afraid of that at all right now.

If you mean we might have to deal with a good coach in Austin for once... Ya that scares me.

But, no matter the coach, they still need a quarterback

I had a short but interesting conversation with a convenience store clerk (an older woman) while leaving Austin on Friday. She noticed my TCU shirt and asked if I'd gone to the game; she followed up by saying that she thought "they" should fire everyone in the football program and start over.

Things may be getting rough in Austin when even the Valero clerks start lobbying to have the coaches fired. I know I'm going to start talking kindly about Mack from now on.
