Jaden Craig was an Ivy League star. Now Harvard transfer is looking to make a leap at TCU​

TCU football found itself without a quarterback this offseason after veteran three-year starter Josh Hoover entered the transfer portal before eventually committing to Indiana, the reigning national champion.

The Horned Frogs didn't go out and find a highly touted transfer to replace Hoover, though. Instead, they're putting their faith in Jaden Craig, an Ivy League star who TCU thinks can be a standout, despite moving up from the FCS level.

Craig, a graduate transfer and multi-year starter from Harvard, passed for 6,074 yards with 52 touchdowns to 12 interceptions in three seasons with the Crimson. He also rushed for 194 yards and 11 additional scores. The 6-foot-3, 225-pound signal caller will face a much-tougher schedule than the one he faced at Harvard, but has received rave reviews in fall camp heading into the season.

Wait hold on for 17 minutes and think about what you said. Ark ST and Grambling should not be used for giving Schoebel & Daulton valuable reps once we reach conference play. That would be simply to sane.

The TCU coaches will never be able to balance an Ivy league grad against Texas QB talent making 1/40 what the Ivy is. RISK = Reward & the TCU Coch staff does not have the tolerance for ambiguity for it.

Simply put, they are incapable.

For the last decade, TCU has scored 30 or more points in season opener. Not tonight.

The guy can't get out of his own way. He was indecisive, hesitant, made bad decisions, and couldn't execute worth a crap. He actually got worse as the game went on. Mr. Harvard was confused by coverages, and never figured out what was going on even with our Crack Staff there to point it out to him.

I watched several games through the afternoon and evening yesterday. I saw no QB play a worse game than Mr. Harvard. Hell, the QB at UTRGV looked a helluva lot better than Mr. Harvard.

The biggest problem with Sonny, from the start, is Talent Evaluation. He either does not have the capacity to make sober and sound judgements, or he is blinded by infatuation to a player's obvious shortcomings. Whatever the case, we pissed away a ton of NIL money on Mr. Harvard, and he's a complete bust. Being Sonny, he will not admit error, and we'll have to look at Mr. Harvard throughout the season...

At some point in the game, Sonny should have brought in another QB for one series.

Maybe but I’m not ready to give up on him quite yet. This could still be coaching issues. For example if this guy came in here because this was a better NFL showcase (see Hoover), and has decided he will not risk injury, just show what a strong arm he has, that’s when coaches should sit them down and get their mind right. Not sure if that’s it, last night was just a huge question mark.

So you’re saying that you did not watch the Tarleton vs Prarie View A&M game. Because if you had you’d likely have a different opinion on the thoughts presented above. SD is not good at this whole QB evaluation thing…his track record speaks for itself. Maybe there’s a fantastical turnaround in QB play and overall team performance coming soon. I’ll be shocked if that happens, but maybe. Time will certainly tell…
