I wish we'd have a throwback day of (matte) black/purple/khaki ala Davey. For the extra point, I think there was a thick purple stripe on the back of the pants.

Speaking of Swink, I went to the Wikipedia page on him, and there is a sizeable excerpt from a book about a Vietnam War battle that talks about Swink and his work as a surgeon there.

Speaking of that, who was the last linebacker we had that wore a number in the 50's? Marcus Mallet? Linebackers don't wear 50's anymore and WRs don't really wear 80's anymore. No idea how those trends get started.

Like Wes, I was definitely alive back then. I loved that uniform. Very clean, classic look, and just now noticed the "T" on the socks. I would love to see it brought back for a game.

Don't know if you know it, but that was Sports Illustrated's Photo of the Century for the 1900s. There was a great article written about that picture that gives a back story of many of the people in the photo. I think it was taken at halftime when TCU played Jim Brown and Syracuse in the Cotton Bowl. The article will give you sports tears.
