Guess I'm a racist too if not liking tattoo's qualifies! It's not what they can do on the field or who they are I don't like! It's just the tattoo thing. My favorite memory of tattoo's was a 30 year old granddaughter pushing her grandmother in a wheel chair. Granny had tattoo's up and down her arms and they had faded over the years! Plus the wrinkles didn't help them either! :tongue: They look great when your young but you have to think what they will look like when your 80 years old! All I can say is "GROSS". So for those thinking about getting them you might rethink because you will most likely live to your 80's and not live to 50 like you think!

How many 20 somethings do you know who think ahead to what life will be like when they are 80 or who make decisons today based on how it will affect them 60 years form now? And if they did, they are well might still make the same decisions. There is a good chance the 80 year old tattoo lady had years of enjoying her tattoos and may very well still be proud of them.Guess I'm a racist too if not liking tattoo's qualifies! That begs the question, if the 80 year old wasn't tattooed up, would you of found her attractive? We won't judge...really!
As a person of color (artificially inserted) I really don't care what I look like at 80 or 60. I will be old and used up from life. I'll be happy just to be breathing. And if after all those years of living, if you still are worried about what others think of you......I pity your life.

My thoughts exactly. At that age who cares how many tats you have. I'm sure at the age of 80 ill still be proud of the "TCU" tat I have in my pic

Perfect example of how life is today! If you don't think like a certain person or persons then you are admonished or called names! Get over it! :wacko: It's America and all is well! :wink: I know too many that say they wished they hadn't gotten tats! It's an opinion a lot share over 50!
P.S. I was looking at her as a grandmother and only thing that popped into my mind was "felt sad for her". Sorry but opinions are just that!
Who called anyone names? I simply said I would pity anyone at 80 years of age that were still so vain as to worry about what others thought of them, be it tattoos, clothes, taking viagra and rocking the retirement home! And honestly, you're calling someone out because they don't share your opinion......seriously?

That may be true, but many people over 50 who got tats when they are young were outliers as youngsters. Tats were not nearly as prevalent then and probably more likely outside of carnies and military to be the result of a spur of the moment alcohol fueled decision. When today's youth are past 50, many of their 50+ year old peers will also have tats and they will be less likely to perceive them negatively.

Very true! It started to pick up in the 80's with female's then guys started really big on them in the mid 90's. I get a giggle when I think what John Wayne or Clark Gable would look like with tats up and down the arms. :tongue:

I find the way people throw around racism charges to be very annoying. Embree and now tattoo-gate this week alone. If you've never been called a racist then there's something wrong with you and I don't trust ya.
As for tattoos I think it's mostly a generational and class divide. 50 years ago it was long hair & beards. Now it's tattoos. Neither of my parents have tattoos, but all 5 of their kids ended up with them. I think it's absurd to say tattoos make you a bad role model. However, Tattoos, like a Von Dutch hat, can make you dooshy and worthy of ridicule. I personally don't have a problem against tattoos in general, but if you're white collar professional cover them up. I'm not hiring an accountant with a grim reaper on his forearm.
