Two-Deep Chart for Next Year

What do you think it looks like assuming we get all injured, "rehab", academic players, plus transfers on our roster, and who is on our current high school recruit commitment list. BCS or bust? 10-2 if we lose to LSU? 11-1 or 12-0 if we win the first game. My gut 11-1 with a loss to one of the Oklahoma schools on the road. WVU, OU, KSU, KU, Baylor, Tech = all starting quarterbacks gone.

Green and the Wyoming transfer will be impact newcomers next year. Most all the kids will benefit greatly from a full offseason in the conditioning program.

Future, shades, et al......

Mostly right, but Wooldridge will be a starting guard. I can see Michael Thompson, if he fully recovers, as the first sub at all the OL positions.

Reality. This time last year Hilliard was still in HS. People get a little carried away sometimes with recruiting rankings and hype.

Agree. It's the reason I don't follow recruiting much. But I had high hopes for A. J. based on the celebration by several knowledgeable fff members (as opposed to rivals or LSR rankings) surrounding his signing.

I'll take your response to mean he isn't quite living up to expectatations. Thank you.

I'm not sure that's the case either. I just think like most all players he needs time to develop physically and mentally. Very few players come in and start as true Freshman. Guys like Fields are the exception, not the rule. I have no idea what the timetable is for Hilliard.

No. I think he meant Hilliard was still too raw this season and needed to bulk up a bit. By all indications, the guy should be a beast for us. But Mallet and Gildon both have more experience. I'd definitely expect us to have a steady rotation of guys at LB next season.

I like Hilliard's frame. Looks athletic with room to bulk up still. He came from a great football district and was one of the best defenders in that district. I think he'll put it together.

I'll still be watching Jordan Moore with a lot of interest. The measurables are too good to not have some optimism, but he hasn't proven anything to me yet.

I'm higher on Story than Doctson, but that's probably because a transfer from Florida is a lot sexier than a transfer from Wyoming. Our receiveing corps will be nasty.

Seeing our projected two-deep on the D-Line makes me very happy.

I think that covers everything.

Hire Mark Mangino as OC. Move Rusty Burns back to wide receivers coach. Add Coach Patterson's defense plus our two kickers, find a way to beat OSU, OU, and LSU and we will see all of you back in Pasadena for the last BCS national championship game before the playoff era. Hopefully Pasadena is the opposite charge for the Frogs as unfortunately Arizona has been on the negative. I'm starting to save my $3000 for another trip to Pasadena now. Despite our loss last Saturday, I still had a great time in Tempe and hope we can go back to the Valley in other years when we are not playing in Pasadena or New Orleans or the Cotton Bowl.

On another note, I went back and looked at Pachall's numbers and the TCU total offense in the BSU game last year, the La Tech bowl game, the KU and Virginia games this year, and compared them to Boykin's bowl game, the OU game, the UT game, ISU game. I ruled out the offensive productions from the Grambling game and the SMU game played in the rain storm. A Pachall led offense averaged between 400-500 total yards a game. A Boykin led offense average between 200-300 total yards a game. The more yards our offense eats up, the longer our defense sits, with the exception of when we play Texas Tech. I think the best scenario is the return of a more mobile Casey Pachall and put Boykin on the field somewhere and always have the wildcat style option. But at the end of the day, having a gun slinger more like Peyton Manning wins more games and distributes the balls more accurately into the hands of your play makers and we will win more games.

What about QB, RB, FB, TE, OL, CB, SS, FS, WS, K, P, KR, PR, LS?
