Tulsa World: What to expect from OU's defense?
It’s been a tumultuous 10 days for Oklahoma’s defense. It’s been that long since Oklahoma coach Lincoln Riley overhauled his defensive staff.
So, what does he expect Riley expect to see when the ninth-ranked Sooners (5-1, 2-1 Big 12) face TCU (3-3, 1-2) on Saturday?
Determining what success looks like defensively is hard to describe.
“I think we'll see how the game goes, the flow of it. It's tough to define. I don't know that you'd sit there and say a number of yards or points,” Riley said on Wednesday. “I mean, I think just improvement in our mentality, playing more consistent. I think freeing guys up where they can settle in and make more plays and then just playing together as one. I think it'll be … I think it'll be more of a feel more than anything. But I'm excited about what I've seen on the practice field. We just need to carry it over now.”
