Can't blame the kid for following his dream. Congrats on getting your degree and goodluck Josh! I thought it'd be fun to list our Top 5 plays from Mr. Boyce. There are many from the last three years.

1. The bomb he caught from Andy to set up a TD in the Rose Bowl
2. The 94-yard TD to silence the crowd in Salt Lake in the biggest regular season game in TCU history.
3. The 2-point conversion at Boise
4. The 94-yard TD to force OT against WVU
5. The 2-point conversion at WVU on a terrible throw by Boykin to get us to bowl eligibility in our first season in the Big 12.

Those are some huge plays...anyone in the last 15 years have more critical big plays for tcu???

Agree on all accounts, but...
Why do you have to pick on Boykin in #5
#4 doesn't happen without a disgustingly athletic play by TB...

Wasn't picking on him. Just pointing out the fact that it was a terrible throw, which made Boyce's catch that much more amazing.

Let's not forget that CP4's throw on the 2-point conversion in Boise was a pretty bad throw as well.

Boyce just has to concentrate on catching with his hands and not his body. I think some team will get a steal when they draft him.

This. He has plenty good enough hands to not need to use his body, but sometimes he falls into a habit of letting the ball get to his body and it doesn't turn out very well.

Those 2-pointers were HUUUUGE but my favorites are those long ones when Boyce catches, then runs away from the other guys -- the WV game this year and at Utah in '10.

Pachall's throw in Boise was late, but it was on target. Boykin's throw was in the dirt, and Boyce still miraculously scooped it up. Going by sheer difficulty I'd say that was the best of his big plays. The others were just on bigger stages.

CP4's throw was late and inside, he said so himself. That being said, I'd rather CP4 throw than Boykin's.

you guys are getting the BSU plays confused... boyce went in the dirt to scoop up the touchdown (when his helmet got ripped off and there was no flag), and then caught the pass on the outside and outwilled the defender to the endzone for the 2-pt conversion

both were amazing plays... I agree with the OP's list

remember, #1 and #2 were done when Boyce was a FRESHMAN!

That 2-pointer against Boise was beautiful, as Boyce literally ripped the ball away from the defender, flung the guy out of bounds, and ran it in.

A few others I also remember clearly...
1. That first long TD against Boise, surprising a crowd that thought they would roll us that year.
2. His 4th-quarter TD against Baylor in 2011, announcing the Frogs were not going quietly.
3. Racing over to Pachall and pulling him to his feet after Pachall cramped and fell running in a 2-pointer against Baylor last year. Not a great play, but a great example of leadership and competitive spirit.

Boyce is the most ready to leave early of any TCU player I can remember. We'll see how he does. A big problem is that there are a lot of good WR prospects in this draft. OTOH, it could mean that someone will get a real bargain with Boyce. Biggest negative is that lower draft picks and UFA's are put on a much, much shorter leash than players from the first two rounds, who are often given 2 or more years to develop into a pro player.

Knowing the pros, Skye may be given a better draft selection that Boyce based strictly on his 40 time. I sometimes think the NFL scouts throw away all their film and just look at hard numbers from the combine and workouts.

I agree, but we don't even know Boyce's 40 time... i bet it's up there, not saying as fast as skye, but could be low 4.4 who knows maybe even sub 4.4??

See Jeremy Kerley. I'm pretty sure that there wasn't a single scout that watched a minute of his film. Now he's a Top 30 WR or so in the NFL and has to catch passes from Sanchez.

It's true. The pro scouts only care about measurables. Still would be shocked if Skye gets drafted though. Now, if Al Davis were still alive...
