It's quite simple...most TCU fans live with an inferiority complex. I keep hoping with more success we will one day grow out of it. Maybe...?

My point is, other than the SEC Championship game all of the other conference Championship games are a hard sell. The thing I am surprised at is that these two teams are very well traveled fan bases, and even they didn't sell out the stadium.

I think another problem is that it's in Indianapolis...tough sell?
I like how the Pac12 made it a home game for the team with better record? Even then though Stanford had tons of empty seats...

The Big 12 CG always did well and finally found a good home at Cowboys Stadium before it died.
The B1G game seems ill located.
Stanford has had bad attendance for years, so is nothing new.

I can somewhat understand why Stanford was so empty since it was a 5 o'clock kick on a Friday. That being said, it looked pretty sad for a CCG.

One of the big issues for the Big 10 is that you don't know who is going to be playing until 7 days before the game for the most part. Nebraska didn't know it was going to be in the game until last Friday. Not a lot of time to arrange transportation and hotels from Nebraska to Indiana. Wisconsin had a lot more time because Penn State and Ohio State have been ineligible all season. Of course that also means it wasn't a true championship game since the 1st and 2nd place team from that division weren't eligible. The Big 12 always drew well because the Oklahoma/Texas winner knew who was going to the championship game in early October. They had plenty of time to make arrangements.

I'm more surprised at how bad Nebraska is than I am at the lack of attendance. I just flipped over but I'm pretty sure that nobody has scored 70 points and run for 500+ yards on the Huskers in my lifetime. Embarrassing for the Big 10 and humiliating if your a Nebraska fan. Ouch, try and go win a bowl after having 70 hung on you... And all this by a five loss team.

I'm going to go out on a limb and conclude that none of the people who didn't buy tickets are regretting that decision right now.
I do wonder how many of the Wisconsin fans are going to be up for going to see a third straight loss in the Rose Bowl. They were pretty pumped up when they played us but between a mediocre year and the two prior losses, might there be some fatigue factor setting in even for the Rose Bowl?

Well there you go, did not recall that. Not sure how much that mitigates a Nebraska fans feeling right now, especially in a conference championship game, but I guess they can take solace in the fact that they've bounced back from such an arse whipping before.

How would you describe more success? A National Championship? As much grief as we have been subjected to over this subject I would say that a little context is not over the top.

Economy sucks out there, unless you are in an energy producing area or something. Might have something to do with it.

TV likely doesn't care. I bet sausage-eaters from Pennsylvania to Wyoming were watching that game and the broadcast commercials from their couches.
