[QUOTE="FrogBall09, post: 3144385, member: 74375"] So the entire "its a long season" mantra isn't really any more knowledgeable about baseball than the OP who thinks we are terrible but should give Loos a pass for a year. The season is half over right now - and this was by far the easy half. The Kansas series and a few mid weeks against Tarleton and ICW are really our only breaks for the second half. College baseball teams - especially ones that have composed the way Schloss and Loos both build rosters - are pretty much settled into a line up and rotation by now baring injuries. The fact that we are still up in the air in at key areas like DH and 4th starter (5th with Krob out) at this point isn't a sign we are expecting something to change - it is a sign we missed on those roles. But we have some hope - but probably not from someone currently struggling to suddenly figure it out - more likely from the moves that will be enabled with a couple of returners from injury. If Krob can come back and be effective, if Perez has truly figured it out from the first pitch, when Petrie gets back to allow Goodloe to DH, if Goodloe can fill the DH spot - those would fill the largest holes and get us back to being an above average B12 team. If we have a few strugglers figure it out - Cam become the go to reliever, Hill to keep improving, Wright to find the strike zone more than not, Walker to find the bottom of the zone again, some group of Nunez, Bishop, Rodgers and either of our corner outfielders get on track again - that would be the difference between fighting for 5th in the B12 and praying we win the tournament or being the #2 seed at a regional no one wants in their bracket.
