I was in the Pit eating dinner when the word spread through campus that KD and others were kicked off the football team. Didn't believe it at first.Abermathy’s. Had many a crazy night there.

I‘m sure everyone else has a similar list and it is impossible to list those things we enjoyed in our lives that have slip to the back corners of our minds.
Even the Union Gospel Mission moved out.Miss the old seedy downtown of the 60s and 70s before the Basses cleaned it up with their entertainment venue and all the expensive restaurants.
With the looming Covid’s, this idea may make a comeback. Isolated socially distanced seating!Ridglea Italian Inn with the booths that had privacy doors…

The Old South Pancake House @ 10' pm along with 30 to 40 others cramming for semester finals. And, 8th street theatre with foreign movies. Name has no place in my mind, but the hotel at the corner of Berry-Eight and University. How about Topsy's Dinner across the street from Casa. Remember any of these asleep? Oh and getting in free at the rodeo south back entrance. one more...THE CELLAR. Next door roomates at Clark, Donnie Smith and Rox Covert. Yes the guy who now owns ALL of the Covert Car dealerships in and around Austin. He was a better golfer than football player and he was pretty dang good in football too.Though you're just a puppy Froglaw, some of these you may recall.

Goff's...and the loveliest Zetas, Tri Delts, etc. A girl named Sue Funk (real name) she was so beautiful every guy on campus just knew she had a date and didn't ask her out, so cute Sue sat in her dorm room lonely. KTCU and its 10 or 20 watt transmitter in the basement at .. hall. In those days TCU OWNED the Miss Texas Pageant. Yr after yr the Frogs were the prettiest girls in the state and produced so many celebrities' -one or two that became Broadway's biggest. Finest stars ever whose name will always be remembered. Bob Lilly lifting a Volkswagen and putting it on the side walk. Playing golf on worth hills and later getting two cafeteria trays and sledding the snow on worth hills of March 10th.I just turned 63 last month.
