ARLINGTON, Texas — It will be another month or so before TCU football coach Gary Patterson announces his starting quarterback for the upcoming season, but it’s fair to say Alex Delton is well positioned to win the job.

Delton, a senior graduate transfer from Kansas State, has turned plenty of heads since he arrived on campus. And he made his presence felt while leading the offense during spring practice.

“To be honest with you,” Patterson said Monday at Big 12 media days, “he saved us.”

A run heavy offense with Delton in and back to more air raid with the rest of the QB lineup. In 4 years he was never able to finish a season due to minor injuries so expect others to also be starters as this season plays out.

IMO, I would think as the season moves along, he will be most effective in the 4th. quarter protecting a lead with a run based offense. He runs like a RB and doesn't slide like Andy did. Cannot see him taking this many hits and finishing the season uninjured.
