The Rams Wire: Aaron Donald, Joseph Noteboom among Rams camp storylines
The Los Angeles Rams kicked off their training camp schedule on Thursday with their first practice, giving fans their first look at the 2018 squad. Everyone was in attendance and accounted for except for one, which is undoubtedly the biggest storyline of camp. Aaron Donald has continued his holdout as he seeks an upgraded contract from the one he’s currently playing on.
With just $6.9 million coming his way in 2018, Donald is vastly underpaid and is presumably looking to become the highest-paid defensive player in the NFL, earning somewhere around $100 million. His absence will be a talking point until he arrives at UC Irvine, which isn’t great news for the Rams.
On the other side of the ball, rookie offensive lineman Joseph Noteboom is a first-year player to watch. Sean McVay mentioned him as a potential replacement for Jamon Brown, who’s suspended for the first two games of the season. Noteboom primarily played tackle at TCU but mentioned he’s comfortable at any of the five offensive line positions.
