I can’t imagine how loud that was.John Denton was in the radio booth. Said the plane came at eye level with the press box. He said he could have jumped into the pilot’s shirt pocket.
Players from both sides were jumping around after it and TCU players said it helped get them fired up for the game.I can’t imagine how loud that was.
That’s why the best ones are retirement flights. As I recall the pilot was disciplined for it.
I doubt his assessment was accurate for a couple of reasons. First of all, the timing that would be needed to jump from the press box into a fast moving jet is difficult to imagine. Secondly, the pilot’s canopy would have to be open, which I seriously doubt was the case. Third, the size of the pocket would need to be at least twice as big as the pockets I’ve seen on the pilot’s flight suits. He said he could have jumped into the pilot’s shirt pocket.
It’s similar to Muck. I don’t have to see the byline to know who wrote it.I doubt his assessment was accurate for a couple of reasons. First of all, the timing that would be needed to jump from the press box into a fast moving jet is difficult to imagine. Secondly, the pilot’s canopy would have to be open, which I seriously doubt was the case. For the above reasons, I call BS on Denton’s claim. If he’s lying about that, what else is he lying about?
