The Masters: predictions

  1. Watching The Masters is one of my favorite springtime rituals. Rangers baseball, Lone Star park and horse racing, and cutting the grass. Ahhh Spring! Its nice that things are beginning to go back to normal post Covid-19. Having said that I have 3 golfers to watch this 2021 Masters. Justin Thomas, Patrick Reed, and Collin Morikawa. Thomas is the hot golfer who I think will play stress free after his TPC win. Reed is the veteran who has won it before. He has played steady but not great this spring. Morikawa is the sleeper who will surprise a lot of people this year at Augusta. Looking forward to it regardless who wins!
    P.S. I know I'm a week early.

  2. Add Tom Hoge to that list.

  3. A major-winner on tour counts as a sleeper? Interesting

  4. Is Brooks Koepka not the best anymore? I can't keep up with golf. One year Spieth is remarkable and the next he's awful. I like consistency in my sports

  5. You should start posting on Bama’s fan forum. TCU sports aren’t for you :)

  6. is Hogue in the Masters?

  7. Koepka is out with an injury.

If I had to pick a winner, it'd be Bryson D.

  8. having a problem overcoming his injury - therapy didnt work, then surgery, then recovery, then some relapse. He is in the can't practice much can play on and off stage.

  9. I don’t remember golfers getting hurt back in the 80’s as much. Is it like football where they are putting so much torque on their bodies now they are more susceptible to injury.

  10. Yep. Just look at the way they swing now compared to then. No way the legs and back can hold up for 20+ years swinging like that, except in rare cases. I think it's going to increasingly be a young man's game.

  11. Scottie Scheffler.

I think JT and Spieth will play well next weekend and hope Bryson [ #2020 ]s the bed like he did in November.

  12. He's a sleeper in that he has not won since his major last summer and he has been average this spring. Not getting attention or notice thus the label.

  13. Wish I could win a WGC at one of the toughest courses in the world when playing average.

That was four weeks ago. Find another label.

  14. I do think Reed is a good pick. Just hard to root for.

  15. Same with Bryson

  17. Koepka knee injury is opposite knee than he hurt before and happened in an “accident over a weekend with family.”

I’ll take spieth. Game is rounding into form and he plays that course as well as anyone.

  18. Still shows Tiger on the list. What a shame he's not going to be there. Despite his personal life, he always adds interest to the match when he plays.
    Dustin Johnson is my pick.
