The Harris/Biden Administration: Coming Together to Build Back Better

Bingo.

It's incredibly sad, and about as horrible a tragedy as one can imagine, but being "outraged" is not really going to accomplish anything. And it annoys the hell out of me that blame and finger-pointing need to accompany every damn terrible thing that happens in this world.
Instead, we need our fearless leaders to pass some more laws. I mean if we outlaw guns because they look scary, crazy people won't get other guns that are just as deadly. If we make people wait 30 days to get a gun, crazy people will just decide its not worth the effort. If we ban magazines that hold more than 10 rounds, crazy people will never learn that with minimal practice you can reload in less than 2 seconds. Hey, maybe we can find some judges to interpret the 2nd Amendment as only applying to muzzle loaded firearms. Of course then your 1st Amendment rights are pretty much gutted.

I am sure if we just pass all those, then Congress will pat themselves on the back and the crazy people will decide that they will just start being not crazy and become productive members of society.

I just wish the authorities in Texas would chase these illegal gun sellers/crazy shooters as aggressively as they do marijuana dealers.

2 things I've learned in the past 24 hours:

If you're for stricter gun laws then you're a freedom hating commie who only wants to enslave the populous.

If you're against stricter gun laws then you're a terror loving psychopath who loves seeing children die.

I can't imagine what it is that's standing in the way of progress on issues like this. A country full of dirtbags and LVH's screaming at each other seems like a great governmental system to me.

We need more gardeners.

Not that I disagree with his overall position, but this makes no sense. The fact that America has fewer deaths per every gun owned per 100,000 people than some other country doesn’t at all prove the falsity of “more guns means more deaths.” In fact, he presents the facts in a way that suggests exactly the opposite. According to the tweet, for every gun per 100k people added in America, that’s another .10 deaths

Until she introduces a proposal to provide funding for mental health, her words fall very flat. But perhaps she will do something meaningful.

Yeah, not saying she's going to be the one to help fix this mess, although maybe she'll do something meaningful, but I couldn't agree more with her points on prioritizing funding to better secure our schools, like we do with Government buildings, and how we've gotten here with the erosion of values, family life, etc..

An armed populace is the only thing that puts fear in the hearts of the elites.

Without the 2nd amendment, we are probably sealed shut in our homes during COVID in 2020 like they did and are doing again in China.

I take it as he's saying that although gun ownership has increased in the U.S., that .10 number has actually come down.

Seems like he's just showing other countries as a comparison, since a lot of people claim that countries like Switzerland and Finland are doing it right/so much better than us, yet they're in the same boat on that metric.

But if there are only, say, 2 guns per 100,000 people in Finland, that “.10 deaths” is a lot smaller raw number than it would be here.

Again, I think he's just talking about the U.S. with the "more guns = more deaths" comment being false. We have more gun ownership now and that number has come down, according to him, yet you hear that comment a lot.
