Global warming might not happen quite as fast as we thought – here’s why
Plants will absorb more carbon dioxide than predicted, meaning models could be overestimating the speed which the planet will heat upwww.telegraph.co.uk
I've been reading about "Ghost Stations" NOAA has been using for years to fabricate temperature data. Such a fascinating topic.Lol

Not to mention the very old stations that have had heat absorbers like pavement and metal buildings replace fields around the stations over the years.I've been reading about "Ghost Stations" NOAA has been using for years to fabricate temperature data. Such a fascinating topic.
A great point. Some of the research being done into these stations is fascinating and considering the "global" recorded data is pretty much all made up of just the US data stations for nearly 100 years it really adds context to this debate. Not to mention the very old stations that have had heat absorbers like pavement and metal buildings replace fields around the stations over the years.
Huge, if true...Went on a golf/football trip with some friends last week, one of whom is a far, far lefty. Things I learned:
- The right controls the media (no, this was not a joke) and Democrats won't be able to win the election because of it. Apparently, Fox News and talk radio are infinitely more powerful than CBS, NBC, ABC, CNN, CNBC, MSNBC, The New York Times, Chicago Tribune, USA Today, LA Times, Bloomberg combined.
- The Democrats are the disorganized party, despite the fact that they never, ever break ranks.
- The Hebrews never really lived in Israel, and don't really have a right to the land there. Of course, we have two fairly well-known books, written almost two thousand years ago, that completely dismantle that argument.
- Nikki Haley will be the next president because she's pretty and articulate.
- The Supreme Court has been radicalized and is a right-wing, activist group now.
- America has moved waaaaay to the right the last 10 years (this one always kills me -- I don't know how anyone with a functioning brain can possibly believe this, yet this is very common from far lefties). The left controls the media, the education system, big tech, arts & entertainment, and has filled the federal bureaucracy with leftists/statists. Our entire population has become indoctrinated with DEI, social justice, climate change propaganda, and political correctness. And 81 million people voted for a Democrat last election, the most in history. But yeah, America has moved to the right.
- The Senate needs to be restructured for population. Nebraska and Wyoming and all those other inconsequential flyover states don't deserve two Senators.
- January 6 was a coup de tat.
- Oh, and AK-47s need to be banned. Too many people are getting killed each year by assault weapons like AK-47s.

This guy is 64 years old.Gen Z and A apparently get most of their news from social media with Tik Tok being a big source.
The question of whether America has moved to the right or left is an interesting one. I’m not sure the “average” American voter has moved that much. I think the right has made some gains in some demographics (working class, minorities) but lost ground in others (suburbs, women). Probably more voters in the tails/extremes of the political curves than the past. And in that regard, I do think politicians have moved both more right and left- very few true centrists/RINOs/DINOs (or whatever you want to call them) anymore.Went on a golf/football trip with some friends last week, one of whom is a far, far lefty. Take a look around your community — your grocery store, your schools, your restaurants, etc. — and take a hard look at the way people talk to each other, how they dress, the activities they do, the shows they watch, and tell me how exactly we’ve become “more” conservative. Then look at what we’re taught in schools, at work, and in our social organizations, and tell me exactly how we’ve become “more” conservative? The question of whether America has moved to the right or left is an interesting one. What time frame are we talking? Last 40 years or so? If that's the case, I would say from a legality standpoint, as a country we've moved to the right on gun rights, abortion, international trade, and tax policy, off the top of my head. I'm not sure how much that reflects the opinions of the American public overall (see the disparity between increasing abortion restrictions at the same time as abortion gaining more support), but I could see that argument.tell me exactly how we’ve become “more” conservative?
If JFK suddenly turned up in 2023, he’d be pretty far right on the political scale. Even Bill Clinton circa 1993 would be very much in the middle of today’s political spectrum.
