The Harris/Biden Administration: Coming Together to Build Back Better

What if we don't agree? What if I have a lot more weapons and workers than you do I and I just want to steal all your stuff and start occupying your land without your consent?

This ideal of yours where people are going to agree to get along all the time and make handshake agreements to abide by is hilarious.
You mean like what the US government does now?

Answer the question.

What if me rancher says to you farmer, no I don't want to share anything, in fact I don't like you so I'm going to raid your property tomorrow at 8AM and if you aren't out by then I'll force you to leave. No police or sheriff to call, and I've got way more weapons and manpower than you so you're kind of helpless there.

What are you going to do?

I'll be dead, but how is that any different than now?

The Police aren't going to stop you. They can't even stop shoplifters in California, or school shooters in Uvalde. Once I'm dead the scheissing judge is just going to release you with cashless bail. https://cwbchicago.com/2023/09/judg...charged-shooting-dog-chicago-bail-reform.html

This is such a weird conclusion. Also the non-sequitur about bail kinda ignores what bail even is, but whatever let's stay on topic.

Even if you're argument is "Cops are basically useless and never protect anyone anywhere ever" (which...obviously no), you're equating the failure to properly enforce valid laws with scrapping the entire concept of laws entirely. It's the sort of logic you'd see from a 6 year old.

Ummm, you're not dead now?

The police have kept me safe my entire life. At least I've felt safe and I don't know why shouldn't I? No, they aren't going to stop every crime and get every criminal but that's not realistic anyway so i don't expect that. You take these one-off incidents and act like since the police didn't stop a shooter in Uvalde or they didn't stop a shoplifter in California, they aren't going to stop any crime. That's just stupid. As for shoplifters, most large stores hire private security to curtail shoplifting, and people are still stealing things left and right out of stores. So going private with security obviously doesn't solve all the problems.

You seem paranoid.

The argument was that taxation is theft. Everything has been a non-sequitur. But you were cool with force.

The cops are not going to stop your implementation of force against me. They may actually be helpless against you as well.

You say you just want to be left alone and then you makes these claims that cops are worthless because they don't stop crime.

If I'm a cop and my job is to stop the crime from taking place, almost by necessity I cannot "leave you alone", I have to step in and stop you before the crime even took place. And then THAT is going to get people like you all worked up. If police are going to be held accountable every time someone enters a building and shoots people, we need to let them pat people down and do whatever they need to in order to make sure that person isn't dangerous before entering a building. The exact opposite of "leaving them alone."

Cops don't directly stop all crime, that would be an impossible task in a free society. They prosecute crimes, which in effect is a deterrent against crime, because people don't want to pay fines and/or spend time in jail.
I feel like I'm talking to a complete imbecile here. Maybe I am.

Theft is theft.

Taxation is taxation.

Borrowing is borrowing.

All can be bad when you're the one that they're happening to but who is doing what and why does matter and that's why we have different words to describe all these things because they are all in fact different.

It's kind of like if a large group of armed military personnel show up at the capital and forcibly occupy it while not allowing anyone else to come inside. That could accurately be described as an insurrection. Whereas if a bunch of unarmed civilians walk into the capital when they're not supposed to and then leave then that would be something else. Both could still be bad but only one is an insurrection.
