maybe, but consider thousands of us citizens were basically put in prison camps for no other reason than there japanese heritage and they might pose a risk to the security of the country even though the attack on pearl harbor was not as much a sneak attack as was portrayed to the american public

heck, german was openly spoken in the home my dad grew up in as well as the community, but the family was never imprisoned or the family farm taken from them

again, not questioning the resolve of those fighting those battles, but do think what gets forgotten about today's fighting force is that it is voluntary

very good friend has a younger brother who retired a sargent major out of a force recon unit with multiple loops in iraq and afghanistan and the only reason he isn't still going is the retired him at 20+ plus because his body is breaking down

FDR executive order less than two months after Pearl Harbor established Japanese Internment camps. Not saying there was huge opposition but this was almost entirely FDR fear of espionage.

fueled by lies fed to him by key people in washington who failed to pass on intelligence reports and seriously consider the information provided to washington about a growing japanese threat

not a conspiracy theorist who believes fdr and a small group sat on vital Intel to start a war w japan or that the brits knew and purposely withheld for the purpose of getting the us in the war

do believe it was sloth, arrogance, and ego which lead to the lack of readiness

regardless of the why, the fact that 1000's of us citizens were locked up and there land and possessions taken from them was nothing short of criminal and did anyone in the media say a word ?

compare that reaction to the outcry for detaining foreign nationals in gitmo

those alphas will hold their value to as they will be low mileage at sale, in large part because you can't get them out of the garage, but that saves on wear
