Thank you all for your condolences. KFc is such a great community. You all have warmed my heart.
Allow me to share a bit more about Dad. I referenced the baseball scholarship to SMU he turned down (and could've played hoops there, too.) The reason Dad turned it down was that he kept his word to his Mom and the brother-in-law who raised him from age 12 in Dallas. He promised that after finishing high school, he'd go to work full time to help support his Mom, and to help out his BIL with his outdoor ad business. That man already had Dad working part-time hanging off the sides of buildings and such helping paint. And he'd sometimes have to chase Dad down to get to work instead of pedaling down the road on his bike to play ball.
Wow, life sure would've been different if Dad turned into a Mustang. Thank you, Dad.
Anyhow, that was Dad. A man of his word, even at an early age. And he took care of family.
