Brad Stevens of Butler IS the Gary Patterson of college hoops. He takes 2 & 3 star kids and beats the big boys. Butler 88 and Indiana 86.

Brad Stevens is a dynamic coach and he has some good players. That last play was so well thought out, he didn't want IU to press and he wanted to get someone to the rim and it worked. Plus three starters already fouling out and the team didn't panic, that is all on him.

I'll get crucified for saying this, but he is even better than a basketball version of GP. Stevens is far far beyond amazing.

Having a good basketball team in Indiana is like having a good football team in Texas. They are crazy about basketball. I remember on evening I was having a February business meeting in New Castle, In., and saw a couple of kids shooting hoops on a playground as darkness fell, with snow on the ground.

That would have been me if it was the 1960's.

The main difference between the two is the Stevens is much younger than GP. Other than that they are very similar in their ability to coach up players.

Great comparison between the two coaches! I still roll my eyes when I hear the media refer to Butler as a "mid-major". Seriously, is there really such a thing in college basketball?
