"They" were my in laws, Mom's whole side of the family. Dad loved all of them and they loved him. Years after Mom passed we would still make the trip to Rayville (near Monroe) to see everyone. Dad passed in 1999 and I haven't gone as much as I'd like. Then again I don't think they liked me as much as Dad. I see a cousin in Natchitoches periodically, but Aunt Myrna (85) is afraid of the covid so no foreseeable trips to Rayville to see her and and a handful of cousins and they kids.
