The Detroit News: Michigan State football players reject notion of having losing record

East Lansing — Since Mark Dantonio has been coach at Michigan State, only one of his teams has left without a winning record.
That was the 2009 team that lost to Texas Tech in the Alamo Bowl to finish 6-7.
This year's squad, which defeated Minnesota in the final week of the regular season to become bowl eligible, has no intention of repeating the same performance.
"We don't want to be a team that left Michigan State during Coach Dantonio's era with a losing record, so we have a little chip on our shoulder and we're going to use that," senior right guard Chris McDonald said. "But if we have a good game and play our hearts out but come out with a loss, we'll still be happy." ...
