Home: Houston, Louisville, Memphis, Rutgers

Away: Cincinnati, San Diego State, SMU, Temple

Remember that time when we were in CUSA, and Louisville, Cincy and South Florida left to join the Big East and they thought they were leaving us in CUSA with a bunch of crappy teams?

Boise State's conference schedule looks like a Conference USA schedule from a few years ago. They were better off in the Mountain West.

SMU's schedule:

Home: Boise State, UCF, UConn, Temple.
Away: Houston, Memphis, San Diego State, USF

And to think, I was under the impression they were leaving the CUSA for the Big East.

Seriously, the Mountain West is better than the Big East - Colorado State, Air Force, Wyoming, New Mexico, Boise, San Diego State.... add Nevada, Fresno, SMU & Houston and call it a better conference then the B'East.

No, not right now. Geographically and culturally yes. Perceptions and reality of quality football, I don't think so.

I wish we had a rationalization of FBS, regionalization of conferences AND bowls, and a 8 team playoff, where ALL champs are in, plus a couple at larges, based on stupid polls.

Unfortunately college football is a free market economy, unlike the NFL and most other sports. Until individual schools lean that they can work together to maximize profits (don't hold your breath), it will always be a fluctuating mess.

And we were members of this conference for a few months. Scary. Run dont walk from this deal. I like Boise, bolt as soon as you can blue turfers. This is a train wreck waiting (starting) to happen.
