Are you serious? Tech would be the King of your conference instead of being a prince in the BIG 12-2. I can't believe any Tech people would want to go from being at a major conference to sitting at the kids table.

When you suck like Baylor, you are forced to delude yourself into buying into "it's all about money". Sorry, it's not. It's still all about what happens on the field. TCU owns Baylor and Tech and we know it chaps your behind. Enjoy the money because you won't be enjoying any on field success in your lifetime.

Of course Tech wouldn't want to leave a major conference. I was just saying if Papa Dodds and Papa Brown don't decide to take Tech with them when they go superconference one of these days, then they are going to have to think about other options.

You can say what you want about our team-but I would rather suck in a major conference than rule in a mid-level one.

It is all about the money-just go over to TexAgs and read some of that crap. They were a phone call away from joining the SEC but after they looked at the figures the money was just to good to leave. M-O-N-E-Y will always be the most important factor in these decisions. Hell, in Texas high schools, football is the largest profit generating activity. TV networks also play a huge role in all of this by wanting to reach the largest number of viewers so they can sell their ads at a premium. Then the T-shirt fan who just likes the school because they are winners, and they can watch them on TV can go and buy their "school" shirt at the local Wal-Mart. Why do you think TCU plays on Thursday nights? So the players can have a relaxing weekend? Why does UT and Oklahoma already have the infrastructure to start their own networks? We are all doomed as long as the monopoly of college football continues to exist. I have all of a sudden found myself kind of wanting TCU to stick it to the other Big 12 schools! Somehow I have convinced myself that you should be given every opportunity to win a National Title. I think I just became a TCU apologist

There are many facets to this but you can bet your soul it will always come back to money. If it was all about football we wouldn't even be having this discussion because TCU would have been invited to a major conference years ago. Listen, I don't like it, but it is what it is.

Now, if you want to talk about how endowment funds matter to football...

Good Luck TCU-

Why do you think TCU plays on Thursday nights?

We didn't play any Thursday games last year and don't have any scheduled this year. We do have a Friday night game at SMU this year, but that is an away game over which we have no control. Their conference has a contract with ESPN so ESPN set the terms. That is one of many reasons we have been glad to get away from ESPN.
