Texas Tech better start being nice.

If AnM decides to go along with UT, OU and Okie St and the PAC 16, Tech might find themselves being rejected by TCU/MWC along with Baylor.

I would think AnM has figured this all out by now. (Note: Tech has always hated AnM and everybody else for that matter)

I hope for Tech's sake that SMU, Rice and Houston don't have the same hard feelings as TCU.

If the opportunity ever came along let's not pretend like the MWC wouldn't invite Tech in a heartbeat.

They haven't worked to get us an invite.

Agreed, TTU would be the bell cow of Texas for the MTW West. They have large alumni base, updated stadium, the own dfw mkt 5 times more than TCU, and they are on verge of becoming a Tier 1 research institution.

How would TTU not be the bell cow of MTN West. I am certainly not saying they have a better program, because far and away TCU is a better product on field. All that said, they have more fans in general, large state institution, large consolidation of alumni located in DFW, and produce high local TV ratings.

This would amuse me on a few different levels.

Much better of way of saying it than your first post.

I talked to some TT fans who would rather go to the MWC right now than bend over for UT. They are pissed that UT messed up the PAC - 16 for them.

I'm sure a ton of their fans aren't happy, but as long as that money keeps rolling in they'll keep their mouth to the teet.

I would love having Texas Tech in the MWC. They'd be a fine addition to the conference. They're as close to 3 MWC teams as they are to the Big XII south Texas teams. They've got a good football program who would give us a quite a challenge.

Tired of being UT's Briles? Come on in Tech, where you'd be welcome. Plus, imagine the looks on the BYU fans' faces the first time they experience your student section at the Jones. They may never come back.

How many alumni are in the DFW for TT? How many in Tarrant County? Just saying that there is a large consolidation of alumni or you know how many?

The current problem is they don't feel the same way about TCU as you do them.

Having things reversed might be very tempting to TCU. Just saying.

Yeah, I realize that many Tech fans feel that they are better than us because they're in the Big XII and we're not. But that an a nickel will get a giant cup of jack squat. Many Tech fans do not feel that way, and remember the rivalry TCU and Tech have had over the years. The smart Tech fans know we've got something special here at TCU.

Both of 'em?

Sorry, couldn't resist. But seriously, I wouldn't mind having Tech in the conference. I don't know figures on how many fans/alumni they have in the area, but I know that when I go to a sporting goods store in DFW I see a big section of UT stuff, A&M in a distant second, and then about equal amounts of OU and Tech stuff. TCU and Okie State are usually tied for fifth. That's not scientific, but it's some sort of measure of their interest level in the area. And academically, they certainly wouldn't be below average for a MWC school, particularly now that we've replaced Utah with Boise State.

And let's try to be nice here. Just a couple of weeks ago we were convinced Baylor was headed to C-USA and the MWC was going to pick up Kansas, and look how fast that one turned around on us. There's about as good of a chance that we'll need Tech's help in the future as they'll need ours.

It is possible that the suggested Pac 16 could still happen, and a few schools are going to get the cold shoulder if it does. Talk about a MAJOR uprising if that happens. Not only would it be Tech getting left out, but also Baylor and the northern schools.

If that did happen, TCU would be in great shape most likely, as there would then be room to make a conference with Tech and Baylor, the Kansas schools, maybe ISU & Mizzou, Houston, etc. I don't expect it will happen, but we'd be okay if it did.

It's impossible to know what will happen if a major conference raid happens. That's why everyone freaked out last week. There is no way to know where the chips will fall because there's just so many different breakdowns.

As for taking Tech to the MWC, that would be a great addition. Would be ridiculous not to take a major state research university like that. I think Tech would like the MWC too because they wouldn't have to play for runner-up anymore (well, they might if we had anything to say about it, but would be no more OU/UT to contend with).

That's because the largest seller, TCU, is sold out. Scientifically.

Go Frogs!
TCU to the SEC!

Are you serious? Tech would be the King of your conference instead of being a prince in the BIG 12-2. I can't believe any Tech people would want to go from being at a major conference to sitting at the kids table.
