What would happen if TCU tried to poach a player from Tennessee not in the portal? My guess would be that the NCAA would wake up from the dead and sanction the hell out of TCU for locker room tampering.
TCU should go right at the Tennessee receiver and point t out how every their coaches thought our QB was 2X as good as Nico. Don’t you want to play with the QB your own coaches though could get you the ball?

Is Tennessee going to be charged with tampering or is it just more of the rule is there are no rules?
It would have been Spyre Sports Group (Tenn’s collective) who reached out to Hoover’s “representatives”, not the Univ of Tenn to Hoover. So who do you expect to be charged with tampering, punished, and by whom?

If that’s the truth then Tennessee needs to threaten a lawsuit against the outlets reporting it was the university contacting Hoover.

No outlet ever said “the University of Tennessee, and athletic department employee Josh Heupel, or someone on his staff employed by the university reached out to Hoover.”

Never *ONCE* was said.

What was said was “Tennessee reached out”- which could mean an entire state.

There’s a way these things work, they go through the collectives to the representatives, and no one can create rules around that indicating “tampering” that can be punished in some way.

LOL - so since Heupel went through a collective who went through a representative, that’s ok? Nobody’s gonna offer a player money to go to a school if the school hasn’t initiated it.

Need to just create a “Chaos Coach” that goes after other teams players and back out at the last second just to bring this entire issue to #1 on Coaches annual meeting agenda. Real curious what season tic sales will look like this year across NCAA. I think fans are reaching the point of watching on TV. I know I am.
