This is what a college athletics marketing department is supposed to do. Even though he's still not allowed to speak to the media, Manziel has a strong Heisman campaign going now. It is an absolute shame that TCU did nothing for Andy Dalton in 2010.

Yeah and it comes from the top down. GP does not allow it...which is ridiculous when you think about how mature Andy was from the moment he got here. Does GP think that some Heisman pub really would've gotten to ADs head? Probably even hurt his draft stock with teams who were too lazy to put in real research.

Are you serious, they are not going to let a nonAQ athlete win the Heisman, TCU did right to not waste the $. You need to look at the flip side and Andy had no pressure like a Heisman would in 2010 and he won the Rose Bowl. Andy wasn't going to win the award with Cam Newton playing. Cam was just too popular b/c of the SEC brand. They would never ever allow a MWC athlete to win the award, unless he was so incredible you couldn't ignore like LT (who even though broke running records didn't win The Heisman with a marketing campaign).

I'll take The Rose Bowl win instead of a Heisman for Dalton. There's no guarantee he doesn't distracted with a bunch of Heisman propaganda buzzing around his head.

Yeah...I really don't see how that is a great marketing campaign but what do I know. I do know that while its somewhat clever to couch his ability a bit like Tecmo football, everyone born between 1973 and 1982 will associate that clip with Bo Jackson and the others won't even know what Tecmo football is. Again, just my opinion.
