Too bad this year's game is not in Fort Worth. Hypnotoad could show up with a spinning roulette wheel behind him.
IDK, I’m so nervous about our team this year.
They look good on paper, and the Defense may be improved, but there are major questions on this new balanced offense…
- How long will it take for Craig to adjust to P4 game speed,
- will Denman or someone else step up to productively share the load with Payne,
- Fingers crossed, we can’t afford any RB injuries,
- will Dwyer, Scott, or Shelton step up to become an explosive WR.
The OL has been the biggest question over the past few years, but this year I’m thinking there are bigger questions elsewhere in this offense.
The fall will be so important when everyone is present.

I think we are all nervous. But I'm excited at the same time.
Nervous about the back end. Bud was such a difference maker. But we have some talent coming back.
The big guys seem more excited than years prior. So it's a safe guess they will be better.
Still gotta give props to Sonny making such big changes. It's a gamble. But it shows how bad he wants it.
We have been pretty close to being real good recently. Just have to cross that line. Seems like he sees good direction.

Until then, approach the offtime with a pumped up attitude. Kinda like when I find out there's an open bar.

Absolutely. But we would love him if he were a Frog and donated that kind of [ Finebaum ] head money to TCU, right?
No, Most of us wouldn't like him with this Sorsby Fiasco.

Sorsby was betting on pro baseball games in 2023-2024 when he was 20 YO against Ohio state law.

Not me, no way. I would never want a blow hard that likely knows absolutely zero of anything coming out of his mouth having any sort of influence over the university and team.

Not sure I understand, how exactly does he not know what he is talking about? He played the game and has obviously been incredibly successful off the field so I would assume he's a pretty sharp guy. Haven't listened to everything he's said but what I've heard seems pretty reasonable to me. Anyway, we all have opinions, his don't seem that crazy to me. He's a disruptor, but that's not al bad thing.

For athletics sake, it's too bad TCU doesn't have their own Campbell.

Naturally.

I’ll just say it’s not just about athletics and he has attempted to wield his power and influence academically as well. Many on campus that I still talk to are not happy about that.

I would say he has a plan and a path for Tech athletics, if for no other reason than he is smart enough to throw the real money at the revenue sports of football and basketball. Also, he spends his NIL money on QB’s and interior lineman, which is what you have to do to compete with the big boys.
Any trouble that comes his way from the gratuitous spending and arrogant, try-to-stop-me attitude, might come from unexpected sources. For example, Tech has been complaining about their share of the Texas Permanent Fund for years. They had been making some headway in selling their sob story. I doubt they would get an extra nickel in a legislature controlled by aggys and sips today.
Who knows, maybe the renegade persona pays off, but Tech is really a program and school with zero stroke and influence and could get burned. Maybe it’s worth the risk, I don’t know.
