Tech Fans on Twitter

The comments are pretty entertaining. Tech fans seem willing to die on the “we’re not a trashy fan base” hill, which I find odd since I thought that was a point of pride for them. Every university has its share of jackassery in the stands, but it’s pretty common knowledge that it’s at a whole different level in LBK.

Love how the Tech fans are responding with vitriol that they’d never throw frozen water bottles, and completely missing the point that throwing water bottles at all makes them trash.

I personally know showgirls who had batteries thrown at them in Lubbock back in 2013 & 2015. Any tech fan who claims this is not true is delusional

Showgirl daughter (falls of 2015-2018) actually says the worst fans she encountered were at Baylor where students basically sat behind them and hurled obscenities at them for 4 hours. Said tortillas were the only thing she saw thrown in Lubbock. Certainly others could have had a different experience.

The video some TCU fan posted seems to show the water bottles.

We know with absolute certainty they threw water bottles on the field after the Tortilla Tip in 2015. The refs literally had to come over the loudspeaker to tell them to stop. Whether they were frozen or not, hard to say. Probably not just because it was the end of the game, but it was the first time in 15 years of attending games that I've seen a group of fans throw trash on a football field.

It was especially weird since...it wasn't even that controversial of a call. This wasn't like the Braves going crazy after that terrible infield fly call, they were just mad that Green made the heads up play.

The Man Behind The Curtain
OU 1996. Had all manner of things thrown at us and fans stole band equipment while we were on the field at halftime. Me and another student had to get a police escort to the end zone stands to retrieve the equipment from drunken Sooners. On a side note, it was a great game.

2013 Thursday night game in Lubbock...horrible. During one of the commercial breaks almost the whole lower bowl turned to the TCU section and shouted "F*** you T-C-U" while bouncing their hands in the air rhythmically. They threw batteries and other things at the players AND us. After that night my Pastor vowed never to attend another game in Lubbock, and the next year the visitor section was moved to the alumni side.

I don't know if that game thread/post game thread is still on the site, but it would be interesting to reread. @TxFrog1999
